if any of you teardroppers are in the vicinity of Minden La. on April 2, 2011 we are having our annual Scottish Festival. Kilts, bagpipes, games, venders, scottish hamburgers, boneist knee contest, etc, etc. Dulcimer man

I do like a good festival. I couldn't find this one listed on any of the calendars of upcoming Scottish/Irish/Celtic festivals that I have bookmarked.

It's about a 6 hour drive for me. I would need a little more information before I could put it on my personal calendar. Does it have a website, any camping nearby?

My new Brown Watch (yep, I said Brown Watch) bespoke kilt should be finished by then. I may just consider entering the bonniest knees competition.

Oh I wish! Mike is a Campbell so it has long been his wish to get a kilt... Doesn't have bony knees though.

I do play the Bagpipes. That sounds like a lot of fun.

It's too late for Christmas; but if he's been a good boy you could surprise him!! Rocky over at USAKilts.com does fantastic work and his customer service is above par. Can have one made to measure in 6 to 10 weeks. He carries the Campbell/Argyll and the Campbell Ancient tartans as part of his inventory.

I've seen it spelled both ways.... boniest and bonniest. Makes a slight difference. Either way, you're knees get felt up by a bunch of lady judges. Hope you're not the jealous type.

If you wat to save a little money you can go with stillwater kilts. They have your tarten.

Not the jealous type at all and his is the bonniest I have seen. I might look into the kilt..

Jerry at Stillwater is great as well. I have two Stillwater economy kilts, and I'm quite pleased with them for what they are. I would have mentioned him in my earlier post; but I didn't see any Campbell tartans listed on his website.

Don't want to highjack the thread with comparison shopping for a kilt, so back to the original scheduled programming.

I get off work Friday night at 10:30. It wouldn't be the first time I've taken my trailer fully loaded to work and left from there. That would put me in the vicinity around 4:00AM. Grab a nap in the front seat of the truck, find the campground, set up and go to the Festival. I think it might work.

You are right. I looked and they didn't have cambell. It had been awhile since I had been on there.
