Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

It is official!
We bought a 1971 Serro Scotty at the end of December. After keeping our eyes on the lookout everytime we were on the road, we finally found one not three blocks from our house.

It needs lots of TLC and restoration, but the asking price was well worth it. Mike will be in the mancave for the rest of the winter, spring and who knows how long, but it will be a beauty when it is brought back to life. When she is completed, we will be in the "standy world." Mike says he hopes yall dont disown us........ However, my love for the CASHCOW is alive and well!

Mike and I have started a blog on the restoration, so, we hope you take a peek at it now and then.

Congratulations on your Scotty. You may already know about this group, but in case not, I'll give you the info. It is a Yahoo Group listed as serro scotty camping enthusiasts. There is an abundance of information on rebuilding Scotty trailers.
My 1976 Scotty Hilander may have been similar to yours as to condition, although I hope that yours is better. I say this because of the photo of the right front corner - mine looked much like that. I found a lot of decay in mine to the extent that I started over from the frame and it now is nothing like the original.
Some owners want to go back to original and they are proudly a vintage owner. In my case it was easier for me to rebuild as I wanted it to be, so I am part of the OWLNO group. OWLNO stands for "Our Way Like No Other" Most teardrops are OWLNO's. Either way, the Scotty Hilander rebuild can result in a satisfying project and useful camper. For me, the size is right - not so big to be difficult to transport and handle, but big enough to be an all weather comfortable camper.
