2bit gathering #1 at the woodlands April 21st

Postby 2bits » Tue Mar 27, 2012 10:47 pm

I have posted a number of threads on possible land, and after a couple of letdowns and train wrecks, I decided that I would not post again until it was DONE.

Well, it is DONE!!! :P

My land closed TODAY! I got the very first place I ever posted on the forum a year ago that is on Hwy 34 right at the county line of Hunt and Kaufman counties. It is ON the State Hwy, so there are no dirt/gravel roads to drive and quick access to the outside world. It is out in rural Hunt county but there is a 24 hr wally world 5 miles up the road for supplies. It has super tall trees and a cool dry creek that fills up nicely when it rains and already set up for a mobile home! (septic/water/elec/gas/etc)

I am now in 100% get moved mode, and I'll post a thread for a small gathering sometime real soon in the South Central section of the forum, moved or not!

Oh, and it (and everything else in my life) will be paid in full in 5 years!

Thomas,
nothing like having your own bit of earth!
it's absolutely gorgeous!
don't cut any more than you have to. it takes a long time for those beautiful trees to get that way.
peace,

Cool beans, Thomas ... ...! Nothing quite like owning you own little piece of land ... looking fine and, yeah, don't cut any more trees than you have to ... ;) ...! I'd say let me know when you're gonna have your barn raising, but it's a bit of a far piece for me to come help ... ... if I'm ever in the area, though, and you need some help with something ... ;) ...

Good job!

See what persistence and a dream will get you

Thank you guys (and gals)!

Luckily I won't need to fall a single tree too! There is a clearing where the house will go, and a small drive that goes to the back where I will put the woodshop. I only plan to clear out a few walking trails.

I can't wait for my first night camping out there and then to get my mobile home moved so I will be camping EVERY day! First order of business is to get the power and water turned on, then move the woodshop out there, then the sheds then the big trailer. we will have some gatherings before I move since it will be a couple months and we can take advantage of the clearing.

I will keep you updated on the progress!
Thomas

Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).
