This might be a little early and/or short notice but the wife, kid and I are thinking of heading to either Goose Island SP or Galveston Island SP. We had been planning this since last month just had not nailed down a date until now. If Galveston SP is spared and would be opened that week end, that would be our first choice, because we have never been to Galveston. If they are not open we will then try Goose Island which we have been to and is very nice. We will be making reservations Monday or Tuesday, as soon as we know what Rita does. I just thought I would let the group know. I hope every one is out of harms way Rita still looks to be a bad one. :worship:

Let us know when and where. Cindy and I are interested. We've never been to Goose Island but have done Galveston several times.

It looks like it will be Goose Island. We like to stay on the water the skeeters like the wooded areas too much.

Just made reservations we are staying in the bay-front sites. There are 8 bay-front and 25 wooded area sites left. Goose Island is located on the north side of Copano/Aransas Bay north of Rockport.

Steve,

Sorry, I just realized we have something else planned for that weekend...a car thing.

Damn, just too many things to do, can't fit it all in! :(

If the weather is really nice, the roadster, but don't let the wife know, it blows here hair.

Yeah, I can see how it might blow her hair a bit. One day I too will have a roadster. My favorite car is 1966 427 Cobra. Lone Star Classics makes one of the best kits also a fine looking GT40 replica even if it uses a Focus engine, but 20k turn key is not bad. Just the other day the wife said "you are not starting another project unless you are going to build a cobra". How can I argue with that.

We will have to wait and see you all in the spring. Hope you all have a great time.

We've joked for years that weather disasters follow Dean's parents when they plan their anniversary trips in mid-September (pick a natural disaster, and his parents arrive in town first). We're out to break the tradition since we share the same anniversary date ... So, ever the optimists ... :worship:

We're looking for any excuse to head out of Houston for a weekend of relaxation! As usual, if business/travel plans don't interfere, we'd like to drop in ... Lurkers we may be (plans are a-ready) ... we'd like to see a couple of teardrops up close and personal first.
