We just booked site 06 at Johnson Creek park at Lake Texoma . We are arriving on Friday MAY 3 for the weekend.
We stayed at this park last summer and like it.
Be sure to book your spot online at Recreation.gov to ensure at spot!! and click on the thumbnail picture to see the spot. There are a few spots like # 14 and #16 that are in full sun and no trees. If you want to come camping with us, look around sites in the teens.

I was born. Perrin Air Force Base , by Denison.

Would this be kid friendly? We have a 2 yr old and and he would traveling with us. We actually went to Eisenhower State Park last weekend with him and loved it! Would love to meet some more teardrop fans!

We're just a couple in our late 40s ... no kids coming with us and we're not heavy drinkers ... the weather looks to be really good, just a very slight chance of rain so far. We will likely go into town ( Durant or ?) to some junk/thrift/antique stores during the afternoon on Saturday.
I don't know if there is a playground or such at this campground, only been there once.
Reserve America only shows about 4 spots booked .
As far as 2 yr olds ...

Dang OkJwl... We have a wedding this weekend...I put LCG and Beaver's Bend on my calander soooo I'm in .. getting ready to get the funds together and send out...

My husband has been working long hours this week so I think we are just going to stay close to home this weekend but we his boss told him to take off early next friday so we will go camping next weekend. Any suggestions on locations?

Geeezzzz! Be glad you're not here. Sun is out and anytime at the lake is good but it is DAMN windy and making it really cooler than what the temp says. We're going into town tomorrow to hit some antique stores. Don't know if its even worth getting firewood it's SO windy!

Julie, we'd thought of trying to make it this weekend but the temp forecast changed that. We had 41* yesterday morning, high was 45* yesterday, & 34* this morning. Checked Durant weather & they're showing 52* now with forecast high today 59* & low tonite 45*. That's too cold for our old bones. Hopefully we'll get to see y'all before LCG
