Hello,

After quite a bit of research, with the requests of those that attended the Cleburne SP gathering, here is the best combo I found:

Pedernales SP for camping/ bath facilities (available both the second and third weekend in March)
Please let me know which one we should go for!
Wimberley Ziplines
WImberley Tx for small town, quaint shopping
Park to Wimberley is about 1 hr.

Notes: I checked the RV Parks around Wimberley and didn't find any with bathroom facilities. If you know of one, please advise.

Other option:

Guadalupe State Park
Natural Bridge Caverns for Ziplines and Caverns. 50 min from park.
Close to San Antonio if you want to go there. 50 min from park

Both State Parks are on water ( hopefully no drought!)

It is very important to get this decision made and reserved, especially Pedernales SP. it is extremely popular.

Give me your feedback, please!

Stacy

I'm interested. Haven't been to either, so I'll go where the crowd goes.

I like the map of Pedernales showing bluffs and scenic views very close by, and I might be selfish, but it is a 4 hour drive instead of 5 for me. I hope to have a tiny-er trailer by then, but we will see. Do you think being so popular will it be a problem getting situated together? I bet being spring break it will be a Thursday arrival which I would want to do anyway though for this cool of a place. It looks like a great place!

I agree. The second is like 15 miles for me, but I love Wimberley and haven't stayed at Pedernales before. Also, Spinnernit was concerned about the drive, as well.

Thomas,
Can you start the topic of 2015 Gatherings and put this one there, so we can get this finalized pretty soon?

I'll call tomorrow and see if Pedernales will reserve sites. If not, I can check in for everyone to get them.

Also, Woody may be there early since the have the week off.

Crowley ISD Spring Break is 3-9-15 thru 3-13-15. We would be able to arrive on Thursday 3-12,3-13,3-14 and leave on Sunday 3-15. My choice would Pedernales SP.

Ok, then, since this is directly related to Woody's 2014 Spring Break trip being cancelled, then those will be the dates.
I will call Pedernales tomorrow to see if they are going to help us out any. If not, I will post for you guys to get your reservations in.

Back to you tomorrow.

Good luck with that (seriously). texas state parks don't seem to give a hoot about accommodating larger groups. Been to Pedernales sp--nice place, but haven't camped. As usual, spring break is smack in the middle of tax season, so y'all have a great time. While I slave away at my desk . . .

Count me in, also. I'm only 220 miles from there...will take me as long to get there as the return trip home from work during a ice/sleet storm on X-mas Eve few years ago. This'll be piece of cake!

We have made reservations for 3-13-15 and 3-14-15 at Pedernales Falls SP in the loop with water and 30 amp electric. I will make reservations for Thursday night at a later date. Hope to see a good turnout. There were only 40 campsites left when I made reservations.
