Hey Charles, I'd love a gathering in s/w louisiana. Just say when and where and I'll try to schedule it. I finally got the teardrop ready, but so far haven't had time to try it out. Still trying to finish the new shed. We lost one during Rita. Somehow this new one grew to be 12 x 24 and I have to share it with the wife lol.

Oct.?

How about October? I have a damn election at that time but we could do it. I would just need some help planing it. I was thinking Neblets Bluff in Vinton. That way it would be close for the Texas guys too. Any thoughts?

I'd love to come to a LA gathering but I probably won't be able to do it this year. All my vacation time is spoken for this year. This year, I took more time off to prepare for the campouts than for the campouts themselves.

Since the trailer is pretty much complete, I won't have that problem next year.

we'd like to join in but Sept, Oct and Nov out for us. Vinton is close enough for us. Maybe a bit over 2 hours. You guys plan it and depending on the dates I might work it out but really doubt it.

Hey Charles, last time we checked at Nibletts Bluff, they didn't do reservations. They just re opened from Hurricane Rita, I heard there was lots of damage. They may do a reservation thing if there is a big enough group going....wouldn't hurt to find out, just a phone call.....NUB.....
Just as a side note, I heard Sam Houston Jones State park re opened too.

We'll be there. It should give us a chance to get an upclose look at your wonderful creations. That ought to get me out of the dreaming mode and into the building mode. October would be a lot cooler than September.

Louisiana gathering.

You where right on Nibletts. The will not reserve it and from talking to some friends the place isn't back up to snuff. Any suggestions?

...Charles, if Niblets is out, my first two thoughts are North Toledo Bend SP, just North of Many La and Lake Bisteneau which is SE of Shreveport. I have never been to NTBSP but it is on Toledo Bend, a VERYLARGE and open reservoir lake with a number of Civil War sites nearby...Bisteneau is a BEAUTIFUL sunken cypress lake, full of large cypress trees and good fishing, there is a canoe/kayak(and rentals of same) trail thru the lake and for gamblers, Shreveport/Bossier and its boats are close by...both would be fairly convienent to those in Texas and Bisteneau would be handier for the rest of the South Central crew to get to(y'all are coming aren't ya).........

...another one would be Chicot State Park, another beautiful example of a sunken cypress lake...
