Last gasp of summer....

I was thinking of planning an informal gathering in the middle to end of September that a few of us Washington & Oregon trailer-heads could get together. I was thinking maybe a State Park or a campground in Southwest Washington or Ocean Shores. We could pick a date go from there.

Who would be up for it?
Any suggestion on a place to camp?
What would be a good weekend?

They say imitation is the best flattery.... Since my gathering, the last weekend of September in Colorado, is called The "Last Gasp" of Summer 2007, I am flattered that you want to have another there in the Northwest.... of course, you could drive down and join us in God's country for our gathering... if not, I hope you enjoy yours, as much as we anticipate enjoying ours!!!

Hi Jeremy,
Never been there, but this place looks nice. At least they have a group site. A covered place to gather might be nice too

Try and take a page out of (Lazybones) Lee's book and pick a date, pick a location and see who shows up.

Hey Ken & Eunice - come on north. I know we missed the fog at Mendo, but I can almost guarantee it on the Washington coast. ;)

I'm interested, but not at $30 per night. How about somewhere in the Columbia Gorge, or a state park? Danny

Depending on the date I may be able to make it.

Sounds like you have a gathering. I think pigwilli had some good advise there, pick a date and location and run with it. You'll NEVER find a date/time that's good for everyone, so plan for what works for you. Oh, and can a Montana Tear come? (Depending on date and location, anyway?) ;)

Danny mentioned the Columbia River. In June we stayed at a campground near The Dalles. It would have been big enough. It was nice. Would somewhere along the Columbia river be sort of central to Washington and Oregon and those of us from Montana and California that want to come also?

You can't get any more central for Oregon & Washington, right on the state line. BEACON ROCK STATE PARK is the closest I think along I-5, :) Danny

Beacon Rock closes 10/1 for camping & the group camp is booked. They do not take reservation for the rest of the sites.

I am heading out of town to go camping with my son's Cub Scout pack. When I get back, I will see what I can find. To make reservation I would heed some sort of head count. I am thinking the sept 15-16 weekend. I would like to stay with in southwest Washington.

Here are some of the areas I had in mind:
Mt St Helens
Ocean Shores
Westport

Like I said before, this would just be an informal gathering to get one more trip in before we put the trailers away for the winter. I don't want or expect anyone to travel a long distance to meet up with me.

If this weekend works for you, let me know. I still need to convince the wife to go.....

Sounds like fun, I won't make it though (same weekend as the Bear Lake gathering in Utah). Catch ya next time.

I will try to come if people promise to be nice to a lone tent trailer builder.

Side Note: Ocean Shores is having a two day "Paddle the Shores" event 9/22 - 23. More info, http://www.oceanshoresact.com/events.html#water

It looks like I am not going to be able to plan anything at this time. My son has a couple Cub Scout outing in Sept but I will not know what dates until Sept 8th or so. If i go camping, it will be last minute.

Too bad Jeremy cant do this but maybe another time.
OK Danny are you going to pick up the slack? Jim is in Portland also. A different weekend Sam could come from Montana too. I still like the Coumbia river ( Mt St Helen 2nd choice) but I am going to be a guest if this happens
