Twain and Tears photo thread

Postby nevadatear » Sun Sep 23, 2012 3:00 pm

I'll start with the few I have. We had 14 trailers and 27 people up on Unionville, NV this weekend. We had a great time in the solitude of the canyon. I was quite a sight to have the deer come up within 5 feet of us and sleep on our mats behind the galley.

Sharon, we all missed you ! We had such a good time, and great food of course. The weather was wonderful. I didn't get pics of the deer that were our constant companions, but i know others did and will post. There were people from norcal, idaho and nevada, reno, carson city, minden, winnemucca and lovelock. The was an article about tears in the lovelock and winneca papers and we had aboy a dozen people drive the 1 to 1.5 just to take a look. Even the folks who rescued me when cut off my thumb came up to look at trailers, and have not seen them since that day two years ago! I rhink we have the beginnings og a northern nevada group and we xan look forward to more norcal-nor nv gatherings.

More photos:

Here's what happens when you drag a 2000 pound teardrop on a gravel road with a diesel truck that can tow 16,000 pounds.

We got a flat and never felt it. The truck didn't give any indication of pulling hard, swaying, or anything. Never knew until we hit the pavement and Kat heard something funny.....

Ran the flat long enough that it shredded and came off the rim.

Image

Not sure they can fix the flat, will have to find the hole first....

Image

Didn't get a picture of the damage, but will have to do some repair to the fender. the flailing of the tire "reshaped" the back edge.

Put the spare on, and had an uneventful drive home after that.

Oh my, sorry to hear about your tire and wheel. I can ask the school bus if the can find the hole for you so you can fix it. Of course putting the rest of the tire back together will be a god winter project for you.

Nice pictures!!

It looks like a great time and those deer enjoyed your company.

How was the weather and did it get a bit chilly in the evenings?

I am in the Bay area and really do not know anything but great weather.

Oh, Man do we wish we could have made it...Next Year for sure! Hey Debbie, do you know how late can you camp there? It looks like a great spot. We might be able to make at least one trip before it's too cold. :worship:

All the best,
