Another option is to pay for 2 campsites. Camp doubled up in 1 site and use the other site for parking cars/trucks. Some less desirables sites might be used just for parking.

Not a good idea. I myself will most likely need a whole site because the Dalton is a little larger than a teardrop so there could be an extra space for someones car.. And by the time Sept. rolls around, you'll most likely (or could) end up with a waiting list of those who want to come but can't because there is no more room. Stick with the rules of the park. You might talk to the host again and explain how small teardrops are and would it be okey to park two cars and two tears in one camping space if they are on the paved area and out of the way. We are not a rowdy group and all state parks that we have had gatherings at are all willing to work with us and always want us to come back. (they also have bent thier own rules to help us.)

P.S. If the camp host has internet access (somewhere), you might send her to my web site. Tons of gathering pictures that will show what we are about.

I'll have to think this one through...the maximum number of spaces we can have "on hold" for our gathering is 35 campsites. We're nearly there today with 32 RSVPs, plus one tent camper willing to share a space. The gathering will use over 75% of all the camping spaces in the MdeO campground. It's turning out to be larger than I (we) expected. I don't want to cram people, trailers, and cars together at the SLO Gathering. Nor do I want to overbook people with the expectation that some people who say they're coming won't show up. Come Sept., probably earlier, there may well be people who'd like to come, but can't join SLO the 1st, because it'll be full.

Esteban,

I'd like it if you doubled Dave and Kathleen up with me. We are trying to see if our schedules match up (and we have enough room) to carpool. Regardless of how our transportation works out, I'll be glad to share with them. That is unless they are angry with me for getting them addicted...

Joanne, you need to camp in the space next to me. That way, maybe I'll get a good breakfast (that I missed at the IRG). ;)

And Steve, keep the count at 35. Everyone who follows, just tell them that it is full. Take thier name and phone number and let them know that you will call if a space opens up. Also PM everyone and see if they plan on sharing a site (and then hold them to it). That should give you a hard count on how many sites are going to be used. Example: 35 sites and 40 trailers because of site sharing.

After we get 35 RSVPs signed up I'll start a short waiting list (with no more than 10 people). If a large number of people want to come to the SLO Gathering that MdeO can't accommodate I suggest they make reservations at nearby Morro Bay State Park and we can visit back and forth.

I don't want to be calling people to see if they're really coming, or to move them off the wait list into a space that opens up. It all too easily could morph into a part time job. Soon my Dexter axle will arrive and it'll be time for me to make sparks and sawdust. That'll be fun to start. There are other, more important, chores I need to work on too.

If you're on the RSVP list on page 1 for one of the 35 spots and you cannot come please PM me, or post a note, with your cancellation. Then someone else can join the SLO Gathering at MdeOSP.

Oh brother, now you give him something else to think about. And that was after you told him he's worrying to much.
And if you snor Bill. You stay away from me. I have enough dealing with my wife's.

I'm an early morning riser and let me tell you...
It's a toss up between Kevin and Doug for who has the loudest snore.
Doug disputes this claim by passing the buck onto Daisy...
Kevin's sidewalls are insulated, as where Doug's are not, so I'd have to give the nod to Kevin...
TDN can verify this claim, she's an early riser too.
We're usually back from our early morning sightseeings before anyone is out of bed and there's always a lot of snoring goin' on...

It sounds like we are not going to be crowded at SLO or at least spaced out so I'm sure everyone will have plenty of "sound barrier" between tears. Doug

Yup, that was us, in our third night ever, camping there in our Little Guy. We're totally excited about meeting some TTT Royalty!!!

We hitched up and took the Little Guy down to Lake Ming last night (Saturday), about four miles from our house in Bakersfield. The campground was full natch, but we parked way at the end of the day use area and hung out by the lake watching bats (I think) hunting by twilight.

Looking forward to September!

Cheers
