Depending on the weather around here at that time, I'm definitely interested!

Deaf valley daze

Postby daveleb55 » Mon Aug 06, 2007 8:14 pm

Yah, we are definitely interested, but only if the trailer is campable by then. (Should be no problem, right?) Kathleen doesn't want to be tent camping in winter, for some reason...

So that's a definite maybe, ok?

keep us informed!

I'm planning on being in Death Valley with my daughter during that time, probably for about 10 days including New Years day. Waiting for my daughter to get a vacation OK from work for that time. Keep us informed.

Looks like my daughter will be able to get the time off so we're planning on being there. Will be bringing a couple small motorcycles for exploring the back roads. Let us know where to meet up. There is always room in the big lot across from the store at Furnace Creek if nothing else is available.

Joanne

I plan on being in Death Valley for a motorcycle campers campout. It is Jan 3-5 2008. This camp out has been going on for about 30 years. I have been going the past 20 years. As I live in Idaho I don't get to ride to it. I did trailer the bike one year. We meet in the Upper Texas Springs campground, up the hill from the Furnace Creek Area. This is a no generator camp ground. There are no group sights up there these days so we spread out but there are always empty sights and our people are some of the best I know.

I am working on my trailer trying to get it ready for this Jan. trip. The earth keeps getting further away and harder.

Weather can be nice. But I have seen winds many times. Distroyed my tent one year and slept one night in my 81 datsun pickup. 3 years ago we had so much rain they closed the camp ground. But the Ranger let us stay if we wanted as we was out of the mud and not causing a problem. Just didn't let anyone else in. :D

Oh, and I love the mornings in that ground. Watching the mountains on the other side of the Valley light up. I set and watch that most mornings.

Maybe I will get to meet some of you this year. Look for the rather different TD from Idaho.

Hi all,

I have finalized the details for the Death Valley gathering and you can find that information in this thread: http://www.tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?t=19006

I'm starting to worry just a little since only two parties have told me that they have made reservations.

I hope to see you there!
