Hey Chief,
How's the back?...
Any improvement, or did Lisa move the computer next to the bed?

It's more like the bed in by the computer ... but that doesn't work either ... ... so it's 15 minutes at a time, two or three times a day, max! It ain't lookin' good, and you know how things go when Workers' Comp is involved, so I won't get up on that soapbox ... this time ... ;) ...! If you hear a loud rip, tear, and explosion from over this way, though, you'll know that I've gone Postal and that at least some of us are out of my misery ...

Thanks for asking, though ...

A question for those who are traveling from bellow Sacramento up to the Dam gathering.

Where do you Camp before you get there. KOA's, forests, BLM's??
I noted there is a BLM just below Reding that offers camping too.

Look forward to your imput.

If you are going to go as far as just below Redding to camp you should just go ahead a go on in to the campground. It's only about fifteen miles on up to the campground from Redding.

Many of us arrive a day or two early. I think that we are going to go up on Monday before the event this year. We never have enough time to check out things in the area so we are going to go early and explore.

Ron:

I've checked out one of BLM's listed camp areas below Redding (Anderson area) and thank goodness I did that before I packed up to go there. It was an empty field of weeds with nothing around....not a picnic table, not a fire pit, very few trees...not nice. I had a hard time even finding the creek, it was so grown up around it. A KOA would be better than that.

If you feel the drive is too much and just want a quick spot to layover for the night, you can stay in one of The State of California's daytime picnic areas. Few people know this but I've read that a traveler in a camper, motorhome, or trailer can spend one night while they are passing through. If I remember correctly, they just have to leave before 8:00 AM the next day.

Ron,
Better put the gun ports back on... There's a real mean bear that frequents the joint... Well, he could be mean if nobody shows up with any gun ports. :R
Besides, you might win "Champers" Choice if yaa bring the gun ports...

For the gourmet cooks out there, know that the local beer and bait shop doesn't carry parchment paper, so bring your own!

I'm just sayin...
A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour!

Good point Sue....any store named "Bait, Bullets and Beer" probably won't have parchment paper or any piping bag accessories, and don't even think about asking about a melon baller or a zester...so be prepared, and if you ask them...prepare to be beaten.... Doug
