That's because it's a secret gathering :o No not really. ;) It's December 3rd thru 5th weekend (first weekend of Dec). Come on down, always good weather. Well let's put it this way, no rain or snow. Although it could be on the cool side. You know somewhere in the mid 50's. But that only happened one year. Here's a pic from the 2008 gathering.

I haven't yet looked to see exactly where Buckskin is, but off the top-O-yer-head, Gage, how long a drive is it, say, from your place?

I may be able to come out there if I can leave work at 2:30 that Friday with the wagon already hitched. I figure it's 4 to 5 hours at least... it's four hours to the river from here.

From Long Beach Mapquest: Your trip is 4 hours 20 minutes / 261.16 miles to Parker, AZ.

Are we still good with the show up and pay at the kiosk system, or do we need reservations at this late stage? Still undecided, but I have a pending target on the map. :)

Is Buckskin Mountain State Park the same as Buckskin State Park?

Well Chris, for me it's only about a 5 hour drive. I go the back way thru Yucca Valley and Twentynine Palms. About 250 miles.

Yep, just show up. If you can reserve a site, it will be outside the main group.

I don't think so. Buckskin Mtn S.P. is in Arizona just above Parker and below Lake Havasu on the Colorado River.

Imma leave Riverside round 4 or 5 am to avoid that mornin traffic out the 10 fwy.

I know that I'll be there EARLY, but then...that is my M.O.

Is there a grocery store near by the campground ?

This will be my first Buckskin camp out and I'm all excited bout it !

I'm sure that sumbody is good at takin/postin pics...would be great to show Bud a large crowd.

After campin at Lake Perris in the wind and rain, Buckskin oughtta bea tropical vacation !

Well, unfortunately, it looks like we will not make it this year. Gina has come down with a cold, and she can't get Friday off. It's just too much to ask her to go, even if she feels better by then.

Have fun, and take lots of pictures!
God Bless

I was really hoping to make it this year....

Thanksgiving day I started with a sore throat and it has gone into my chest. My best hope is that by next week I'll see signs I'm getting better and if I'm not careful I could get really sick. :( I've been through this before. There is no way I will be well in two days which is when we would have left.

Gage, I was really looking forward to seeing how far you've gotten on your little trailer.

And for a last camping trip of the year. :(

Just glad we got to go on the Route 66 mini trip. That was a lot of fun.
And will have to work into the plans some future teardrop event in AZ to catch up with everyone.
Martha ;)
