My concern is if we get a hard spring storm and they put the chain law in effect...I'm sunk. They won't fit on the tear under the fenders and they are required on any trailer with or without brakes whether you have 4WD or not if the law is in effect. Doug

I will be following the weather forecast. If it looks like rain/snow from here ( Eureka CA) to Austin or bad weather in Austin that weekend we will not be on the road. However we have the luxury of waiting until the very last moment before we decide. Hoping for decent weather if not great. :worship: :worship:

I'm keeping an eye on the weather too. Steve T asked if I had a contingency plan if we get snowed out. I sure hope that doesn't happen! I'm planning on starting to pack this weekend and have already penciled out a menu for the trip (of course  ). I'll be watching the weather and this thread for current updates. I'd sure like to see everyone again.

Cathy and I are planning on camping Easter weekend and all the following week, but if the weather is bad we've talked about Death Valley. But, as you can see from my photo, we aren't afraid of a little snow.

I checked the 10 day forecast for Austin this morning on www.weather.com
and it looks favorable for the scheduled dates, highs in the mid 50's and low's in the 30's but no rain or snow. Just keep a look out.

Jerome

It is not a little snow or rain or cool temps that got me worried. Its the wind.

I do not call the wind Maria.

I guess the + is that we won't have any bugs huh? It snowed last night up the pass from me...hopefully this coming weeks weather will sort of peter out and not be much....I'm loaded with firewood and the bed is made in the tear, and partially loaded...

Here's a weather site I got from Steve Tripp.....Doug

We can play with Georges pizza oven....I need all the DO cast iron cooking tips I can get!!!! ;) PM me if there is something I can bring for your menu....I got a feeling that everyone ought to bring what they can for firewood. I'll bring along a saw and if we need to, we can scrounge. Jerry...hope you and Jerome can make it...as well as everyone else that has considered it... Doug

I just checked the MSN weather forcast. It's showing snow from Thursday thru Monday! We had a couple inches here in Salt Lake City yesterday, but is is all melted this morning. I don't know what to do. I was really looking forward to camping this week with everyone. Have to watch the weather close the next couple of days.
I cut it three times and it's still too short!!
Perfection is all I ask.......

I haven't thrown in the towel yet! I'm watching the weather reports as well. Although it looks like the weather won't be good, the reports that I'm seeing show 20% to 30% chance of rain/snow. I've camped with worse predictions and didn't get rained out.

Let's keep our eyes on the weather reports!

Has anyone heard from Grant?

I got my firewood loaded and my winter pacs for me feets. I am going to be there thursday.

There, thats final. No more wishy washy. No more getting scared by a little ole forcast. My forcast says "Plenty of good folks, good food, good times at the glyphs". Weather will be had by all.

To miss quote a John Hartford song "Blow up your TV. Through away your papers. Come and find fellowship, on our own."

Who else WILL be there? :worship:

Unless they close the roads between Las Vegas and Austin....... :worship:

Al and Karen will be there on Friday, hopefully, right about lunch time.
