Hello All,

We were so happy to find that everyone liked our tear drop. I have a flyer... I would like to post and invite everyone to come and enjoy Utah with us this Fall.

Bear Lake Rally Camp out/ Freeze OUT!!

Hello All,

Well, I have returned home after a huge rain/snow storm that dropped over six inches of snow in Logan Canyon and some lake effect snow in the KOA campground.

We met two great people in the Mall parking lot. But, they did NOT have their Tear Drop finished to make it to the rally today. They were happy to see Cupcake and I. We were happy to meet Mike and his wife too.

The temp was 32 degrees at 8:00 am as Cupcake and I arrived at the Mall parking lot with a heater that had stopped working around 2:30 AM. While we camped at the Good Sam RV Park in Logan, Utah. I was cold and wet and reading up on Heaters when Mike arrived about 8:05 am.

I had re-filled the TD's propane bottle at the South end of town. To my surprise. The bottle was more than half full! Something was very wrong now.

Mike suggested to re-light the pilot light... O.K. But, after taking the seat box and heater apart. Guess what? No, pilot light! That's right it's electric!

So, at about 9:05 am Cupcake and I went to the Logan Gun Club in the rain. Were I shot a NSSA shooting event. At about noon we ate lunch and talked things over...

We called the KOA. They told us that only Mike and his wife had been to the camp ground and drove around looking for Tear Drop Trailers to meet some real Tear Droppers.

The KOA told us that they had snow in the camp ground. I asked them to check on the names of the people that I new said they would be there... They all cancelled!! I cannot fault them at all. Thursday day it was 70 degrees and now it's in the 30's.

So, I was without a heater in my trailer and no real reason to go on. So Cupcake and I thought it was best to return home and get dry and warm.

I want to thank everyone that made plans to join us for the rally and camp out... But, were froze out, this time!

I am planning a nice summer camp out to Bryce Canyon in May or June 2007. So, keep looking for my posting and email us with your suggestions for the next Great Salt Lake, Salty Tear Drops Rally and Camp out!!!

The next event will be RSVP for sure with a fee for prizes in a drawing. (still no memberships just a group of tear droppers having fun together)

Hello To The Group!

Well, as it turns out we did have a Utah Tear Drop Rally and campout after all!!!

I was checking the Tear Drop forums today, plus in my email I found some good reports about our rally and campout. It looks like everyone in there own way showed up with or without there Tear Drop Trailer.
Some are still building there trailers and others checked into the KOA cabins.
Some had last min. unplanned things happen early on Saturday and had to pass on the rally this time.

So, there is a Utah Tear Drop Group after all!!!

This is what I learned from our first rally and campout.

1- Have all participate register before the rally or campout.

2- Have a way to I.D. each other. Per. Jeanette posting.
ie: "Next time we’ll all have to tape our forum names or a teardrop picture in our windshields so we can identify people without trailers!"
]
3- Have a cell phone number that people can call if they get lost or break down, or cannot find the group.

4- Tip the Weather Man a "Ten Spot"

Thanks for the reports today.

Let's plan a meeting to meet each other and eat some pizza!

Sound like it could be fun! And there is plenty of time for planning and scheduling. Keep everyone posted. Where are you located, YB? Utah is a pretty big place....

Just to let you know, there are three gatherings planned for May. The Dam Gathering (May 3-6) is a pretty big one and two others May 25-28. One in Washington and one in California. I'm not trying to discourge you, just trying to help you plan so yours doesn't conflict with another and limit who might be able to attend. Check here.
