Interested in a SLO Gathering 2.0 this fall?

 We're wondering if there's interest in doing a SLO Gathering 2.0 around mid September, 2008. It'd be about a month and a half after Dean's IRG 2.0. The first SLO Gathering at Montana de Oro State Park, near Morro Bay, CA attracted about 35 teardrops and small campers. A smaller gathering than last years would be OK with us. If more people want to come camping this year the location may need to be changed to a larger park.
Some other locations we're considering are San Simeon State Park and Limekiln State Park on the southern Big Sur coast. A big wrinkle in our planning is that the State of California has threatened to close down all of the above state parks because of a budget crisis.

Another location might be Morro Bay State Park which is not on the state's threatened closure list. On the plus side it has full hookups and showers. On the negative side it can be noisy in the daytime from RVs running generators according to my friend John from Los Osos who recently camped there and left early because of the noise.

Reservations for camping at Montana de Oro SP will be available through Reserve America starting in March so it's time to get the ball rolling if there's much interest in doing a SLO Gathering 2.0 at the same location.

Edited to add tentative dates:
Steve B. aka Esteban wrote:I'm tentatively thinking Thursday September 11th till Saturday the 13th would be good dates for it. The moon will be full on Monday the 15th so a gathering in the middle of Sept. should have nice moonlit evenings. Early birds would be welcome to arrive earlier.

 Who would be interested in coming to a SLO 2.0? Would you like to have it at Montana do Oro again? Or somewhere else in the San Luis Obispo area of the California Central Coast?

Id like to go. I live in Morgan Hill and thats only 1.5 to 2 hours away.
Keep us posted. As far as What camp grounds, it wouldn't matter.
I'm a new-bee and would like the chance to meet some tear droppers.

I'd sure like another crack at those coons, and I'd like it to stay at Montana de Oro. I think the governor is just blackmailing us so they can raise the fees.

Linda & I would be interested in returning. I've been watching to see if there might be another central coast campout.

Hey Steve, we'll be there. Been there with the Dalton, now it's time to be there with the Teardrop (and an extra starter). My sister will most likely also want to be there with her new teardrop.

Oh, please don't have it the last weekend in Sept. There is a big Teardrop Gathering (Spamboree 8 ) down at Valley Center that weekend.

Sept. 11 to 13 tentative dates for SLO Gathering 2.0

:D  8) Thanks for the positive replies for our doing another SLO Gathering. I'm tentatively thinking Thursday September 11th till Saturday the 13th would be good dates for it. The moon will be full on Monday the 15th so a gathering in the middle of Sept. should have nice moonlit evenings. Early birds would be welcome to arrive earlier.

Just for you  8) Sweet Talker that you are, Gage, we're thinking of doing it mid month. Thanks for reminding us of Spamboree's date so we're not in conflict. It'll be good to see you again and meet your Sis.

Last years challenge was a waffle bake off. How about an ice cream social for Thursday evening? Either hand cranked or in a dutch oven. I would like to see creative recipes!

Great, count on us three, or is it we three? The sweet wife, our killer/attack dog, Liza (5 lb maltese love bug) and ME! See you there.
