It was a fantastic event, a big THANK YOU to all those involved in the massive organization it takes for something like this to happen. And a thank you also to Dan for the "drive In" movie around the meadow campfire Sat night.

Sure was a fun event all around, first time I've been up into the Redwoods in al ong time.

Now its back to the drawing boards to build a faster racer for the next time.......................... Doug and Lee are going to change the rules to make it even tougher next race :(

A GREAT BIG THANK YOU to Dean and Joanie and others that made this a tremendous gathering. Call it the "Redwood Experience"; there is just nothing like it. Looking forward to 2010.

Just had my son ( who is a design engineer) show me a devise that is battery powered that will auto-correct the steering components to track something (like a tear racer) in a straight line. Way expensive, but who is counting, right?

Dean and Joanie really pulled out all the stops to make this an incredible event! I would also like to mention Dan for movie night, Kevin for his cookies, Will for the toilet "perfume" the rangers for their talks and especially Joanne and Kelly for their incredible efforts to provide DO eats for the crowds through their classes and campsite generosity. Those 2 always had something cooking and no one went away from them hungry! Steve also whipped up a couple of 3 leche cakes as well as incredible coffee cakes.

The top "Waffler" went to Delores for her pecan waffles and to all the rest of you that competed, Rainjer, Kevin, Will, Steve, and Ross...(who was rumored to have opened a box of Eggo's....not really). I think I'm forgetting someone, sorry. Thanks for putting up with Lee and I for giving you a bad time...we were non competitors.

Big thanks to Martha for the Chef's hats that were presented to all the wafflers, competing or not. It definitely is part of my teardrop permanent gear now. Really a cool hat, adjustable, with the IRG logo and copy on it.

Cherokee George cast some fantastic custom lids for the awards that were given out for various achievements as well as some great hitch cover donations for the raffle. For those of you that didn't recognize the difference between Geo and I...he had the wonderful attractive wife and more hair!

Thanks to everyone that built or sent in a racer for the Teardrop Derby. I think it was a success and everyone really had a good time with it. There were lots of hoots and hollers that could be heard throughout the grove during the competition. Thanks to Lee for his efforts in building the track. We are going to change the rules a bit for the next one...not because they were all wacky...just to stir things up so no one can run the same tear next time around.

:applause: :applause: :applause:    Doug
