Teardrop Derby at Dam Gathering ???

Postby Lazybones » Sun Mar 01, 2009 3:10 pm

I just want to see how many are bringing a racer to the Dam Gathering?
Please post here if you are going to be building and bringing one.

If there isn't much interest; I don't want to haul the track and set it up, as it's not an easy task.

I hope you will build a racer as it's a lot of fun and doesn't take much time to build.

The rate of fun returned on your time is estimated at 200 to 1000%

Much better then sitting on the couch and watching TV. Or your money in the bank.

I know I'll build 1 or 2 and will probably drag up some of the previous ones. Please let us know if you are going to participate. It really is a hassle to set up the track and haul it around. Everyone has 2 months to get one done. Thanks in advance. Doug

Rich,

You are so right! It is fun to watch the work that takes place at the event.

There is this one guy I remember who's front wheel made his trailer too long. He spent hours getting it to fit in the tech inspection box.

Lucky for him this group just let him be and didn't give him any Sh!* about it for the whole weekend. :?

Lee, I am still trying to figure out how your trick scale had my trailer in weight one day and over the next. :?

Teardrop Racer rules

Postby Lazybones » Thu Mar 05, 2009 10:46 am

: Must have THREE WHEELS

2: Single Tongue wheel must go down first

3: MAX width 4 INCHES MAX length 8 INCHES.
Must fit in a 4 INCH by 8 INCH box (same one as 2008 season)

4: Max weight 16 OUNCES ( all will be weighed on the official scale)

5: Must move with gravity alone. NO rockets, rubber bands, ect...

6: (Now for the clarifications part) there are

NO 2008 trailers can be run in 2009. We feel the fun part is being
creative and building.

Here are the rules. I puled them from the other thread.

NO WHEELS IE (anything that rolls) ALOWED ON THE SIDES FOR
GUIDES

YOU CAN HAVE FIXED "BUMPERS or SKIDS"

7: Last but not least. If you have any questions; please don't email
anyone. Just go back to the top and read the rules. They are very
simple and this is JUST FOR FUN.

I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with!! This is such a fun and imaginative group I know the trailers will be awsome.

Well, There hasn't been very much interest so I'm not bringing the track. It's too much work for a couple of trailers.
