I need a camp spot

Postby emiller » Fri Jun 25, 2010 4:35 pm

I am heading out tomorrow to Los Angeles and what to camp. Because my mom and brothers homes will be full of family members I would like to camp either up on the Angeles Crest or near the beach. Where would be the best place that won't cost very much.

We stayed at the State Camp Ground at Carpetenria. The campground set right on the beach.

Sorry about your loss.

the campgrounds are not accesable from the LA side. Angeles crest highway is closed due to the road being washed out. :(

Eddy,

I do not know if you got an answer and it may be to late but AAA offers a northern and Southern California camping map.
Also check KOA has some but none in LA

You might write TearJerkers of Southern California, Gage might be your contact.

The Camp Gathering at Hurkey Creek in Riverside, CA might be one to look at. That is where the gathering will be on the 20th.

I know I am to late and also wonder where did you stay if it has passed?

Turns out many of our family could not make it out to L.A. for my dads funeral so we stayed at my brothers house. That is another good thing about having a teardrop, easy to find parking for it and it didn't hurt us on gas just to haul it out there with us just in case. I did think of staying up by Castaic Lake area or even at Lake Piru.
