Decided to go to Why, Arizona just for an over-nighter, spur of the moment trip. It's a gathering of the Arizona Roadrunners with a pot luck on Saturday evening & an open desert venue. There's some water available at the Coyote Howls East area, but it's just open desert which costs $8.50 a night for camping. The other part of the campground has full hook-ups if needed.
There were over 30 people in attendance & lots of good visiting & different rigs to look at. Here's a few shots of the area. 80's during the day on this trip & 50's at night. The "normal" range of temperatures in the desert regions near us is about 30 degrees from day to night. If it's 90 during the day, it's 60 at night. If it's 110 during the day, it's down to a chilly 80 at night, or more.....
Alice & the Tucson Tortoise, setting up camp. We had a lot of visitors taking pictures & examining the Tortoise. Still not done yet.....
Here are a few of the participants
Here's the Tortoise on the way back from the Organ Pipe National Monument, a side trip we took on the way out. Another shot for Tony of the forest!
