Any interest in a gathering/get together here in Utah ?

Doesn't have to be a campout or strictly cargo trailers, anyone's welcome to show off your trailers.
Could be just a day thing if people are busy.

2 thing's to consider.

Location::::;;;; Northern or central Utah

When ;;;;;;;;;;;;; I would guess end of summer/fall ???

Let's throw some ideas out there.

Next year is shaping up to be pretty busy for me, so I probably won't be able to attend.

But my suggestions would be:
Do it earlier. Do it when it is pretty. Do it before everything is dead. Do it before it is hot and those lacking AC have to suffer.

For a very accessible place that even the asphalt-only crowd could handle, I would consider something like the campgrounds just off I-80 in Coalville. Come mid to late June (sometimes into early July), that valley is usually very green, quite pretty, and very pleasant. There is also river access for fishing (check the regs, of course - I believe there are bait and hook limitations there); and there are 2 reservoirs within a ten minute drive.
About the only direction you can come from without having a "straight shot" to Coalville would be US 6 and US 191 south of Helper; and those that don't like Parley's have the I-84 option.
Availability later in June might be a concern, however, as July 4 is on a Tuesday. That'll probably wipe out the entire week, plus the previous weekend (Fri on).

For a desert locale, the Simpson Springs campground on the Pony Express Rd is usually still tolerable (not oppressively dusty or too hot) until late June, and accessible by all vehicles. The road can get pretty badly washboarded, but it is still passable by all vehicles and usually gets graded at least once in May and June. If the campground fills, dispersed camping is allowed nearby (and *most* vehicles could handle the trails).

If the crowd leans toward off highway and later in the year, however, the sky's the limit. Gain altitude for cooler temps, and find somewhere with trees and plenty of parking.

We would definitely be interested. We're in Cedar, so central would be better for us.
Pavement or off road, either is fine.

My plan is to have mine built by late Spring, early Summer. If I finish on time I would be interested.

Looks like Yuba State park would be smack in the middle of the state.
Easy access right off of I-15.
Options for campsites includes, full hook-up spots , on the beach or primitive.
(Oasis and Painted rocks campgrounds)
Also plenty of fishing, watersports and off-road trails around.
I can organize a trail run if interested.

Any objections on this area, let me know. Nothing set in stone yet.

Would mid October work ?
Not hot but not cold either.

Just tossing idea's.

For giggles I went out to Simpson Springs on the pony express road.
The campground has been improved recently, nice level spots with deep firepits and tent pads.
The road was muddy going out but left while still frozen in the morning.
Was trying to beat a coming storm.

I need to get back to that valley.
Many memories, and it is quite beautiful for the short time that it is green.

I sent out some PM's to those who may be interested.
Here's a link to the Yuba campgrounds .

Also thinking of adding a Northern trip .
This would be the Devils playground area. Remote Primitive style camping and 4x4 exploring.
Looking at September.

It's not Utah, but we will be having a gathering in northern Nevada this summer. Check out the Twain and Tears gathering post under Southwest gathering thread.

On the way home from Moab, hwy 6 was shut down so I-70 was the only option.
Stopped into Yuba reservoir to check out the Painted rocks c.g on the east end of the lake and took a few pics.
Pretty nice campground.
