I've been making upside down cakes in my DO, but at the last moment (not wanting to embarass myself unduly) I chicken out and put the whole thing in a propane oven in a friendly motor home.

You give me inspiration. I think I'll try a real DO cake, but practice in my back yard where no one can see, just in case.

OH gosh Dave, :o If I can do it, ANYONE can. Get out there and make a cake...and eat it too. :D

Oh and FYI when the persons recipe says 10 coals on the bottom, use 10 not 13 like I did. I burned the bottom a little on this one.

I premixed the dry ingredients of my cornbread at home, I tripled the recipe but lost track when I was counting out the tablespoons and cups. Then I forgot the printout of the recipe, I didn't know how much of the wet ingredients to add, I kinda guessed. I got lucky cause it turned out OK.

Whoa girl. That looks really good. Adding bell peppers and onions should get rid of some of the sweet. Too bad it is cold and raining out. 8)
