Cast Iron Experiment
Posted: Sat Dec 09, 2006 3:51 pmI tried both both bead blasting and electrolysis on a pair of rusty skillets. The first two photos are before, third and fourth are electrolysis only, and the last two were bead blasted and then electrolyzed to remove the rust in the pores that my bead blaster wouldn't get. These pans were freebies that were in very poor shape (I picked them up just for this experiment), but the deep one in now going to become part of my collection while the other gets Freecycled. I would say that either method works acceptably, but using both gives truly outstanding results.
