Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

The second International Teardrop Gathering is tentatively scheduled for June 14-17, 2007 in Minden, Nebraska. I have been asked by George Thornton to once again help run a Dutch oven workshop. If Jack Jacobson attends, and is willing to run the workshop with me, the workshop will become a reality.

Last year, we fed the attendees with the results of the workshop (herbed dinner rolls), and gave each attendee a 24 page booklet as an introduction to Dutch oven cooking. This year I hope to up that page count to 28 with 4 new recipes. I have no idea on what we will be fixing as a demo.

I hope you TDers who plan to attend the ITG will also attend the workshop.

As far as I know, George is in Nebraska, finalizing the arrangements. You'll have to talk to him about that.

Mike the garlic & herb rolls you made at the first ITG were very impressive. I've tried them also and they really are good.
Anyone going to ITG2 with the slightest interest in DO cooking should attend the workshop.
I won't be able to make it this time but I still remember the rolls.

This year I will be doing zucchini bread for the workshop. I am fine-tuning the recipe as of yesterday.

Mike, Can I assume that it will be posted on your web site?

Breads are one thing that I haven't tried a lot (at least from scratch).

The nice thing about the workshop was the ease to which you made it happen.
It gave a lot of new DO cooks the confidence and ambition to try things they never had the confidence to try before.

I'm always fooling with small things like appetizers such as Jalopeno poppers and (what I call) "celery poppers". Celery stick filed with cream cheese and mozzerela then wrapped in a strip of tortilla shell and fried in olive oil. They are a lot less spicy but the cheeses make them really taste good.
I want to build this into a full course meal with a pot roast and the cobbler w/ icecream for dessert. (I've had success with both of those)

With a little wine to help me cook and the hunger that come naturally from cooking, I'll be a happy camper for sure.

Yes, it will be on the web site. I just have to get the sweetener right. I used a recipe from a diabetic web site, and even though there was sugar substitute in the bread, it wasn't sweet enough.
