Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

I am a big fan of re-gifting. Anytime I receive a present that I don't need, don't want, can't use or really don't want, I have no qualms about packing it up and giving it to someone else. It is the giving, not the gift that matters.
It does not bother when someone moves one of my selections on to another person either.

I just got a re-gift, just not the normal way. My local WalMart has only kitchen DO's when any are in stock. Last week I was in NorCal and had to go to the local Wally there and happened to glance at the bottom on a shelf. There was a battered box with a 12" Lodge Logic for $41 and I had cash in my pocket so it is now mine. I now have a "stack" of two DO's. Wheeee.

I had a busy weekend and just got around to opening the box. The DO is in fine shape but all the little instructions etc are missing. In their place I found two rumpled hand-made cards. I know that "Nanna" loves Lauren and Kristen but she must not have needed a Dutch Oven. I hope Nanna got a full rebate, it looks to be in excellent condition. The odd part is one of the hand-made birthday cards is dated August 2004. What happened to Wally World's reputation for moving stock on and not cluttering the shelves? Just my good fortune that no one picked it up for three years.

I plain on testing it soon, I have a great sounding recipe for a pork roast cooked in milk and garlic.
I will be happy to share the recipe after I "proof" it.

Thanks for reminding me about the re-gifting idea. We met a viet vet last weekend that has macular degeneration and is legally blind. We made him some DO blueberry dump last weekend and he expressed a desire to have a DO. (His wife would use it) So I think I'll regift the 12" DO to him this weekend. Someday hopefully, I'll get another DO. Meanwhile, I hope to make someone really happy this weekend.

Hey Dennis,

I'm with you. Just because something isn't right for me doesn't mean that someone else wouldn't love to have it. That said, I don't pass along junk. I think it's nicer to let someone have it and appreciate it than for it to set on a shelf and ultimately get thrown away.

I've gifted four ovens thus far, but I gotta be truthful here...
The Joy of giving doesn't come close to the Joy of receiving a Lodge 5"er or winning an old rare piece on ebay.

Is neenering really a word?

I once knew of a guy that grew a yard full of neeners...I understand he gets out of jail next week...

I happen to have a womb-mate and we neener often but it is called nanner nanner. Must be a regional accent in there somewhere.
