Dishwasher Fish

This is a Bazzar recipie I just had to pass on. It would be very tough to do camping, but it is good. Get (catch/buy/obtain) 2 lbs of fresh fish, 1 big one-2 smaller-3 tiny doesn't matter. I've used Catfish, Salmon, Tapalia even SunFish. Make a "tin foil dish" out of some foil. spray some "Pam" into the dish. Lay out the fish in the foil. Coat the fish with lemon + tomato slices, 1tsp olive oil & lemon juce mixed. and liberal amounts of pepper on the White fishes (catfish SunFish Tapalia) and a little pepper on the Red fishes (Salmon, Snapper) Don't let me mislead you..only 1 type of fish at a time. Wrap the entire fish in more tinfoil, place on the top rack of your dishwasher (NO SOAP OR DIRTY DISHES) Run the washer through a cycle. When its done take the fish out, let it sit wrapped up for 5 minutes and eat.

My dad would Car-Cook all the time. We would have Jersey Shore Chicken, or Pocono Brisket, Chesapeake Fish. and everything came with a baked Potato. The name of the meal was determined by where you were going. This was years ago when car engine compartments had room in them. Our old Ford was big enough he would use a small Dutch Oven.

Happy Trails

Somebody wrote a book on the subject years ago - Manifold Destiny. Bookfinder.com has copies available for $35 up, but since my truck is modern, there's not enough room under the hood to do much more than warm up a pop tart.

Sounds good Len. I not sure if the wife would appreciate the use of the dish washer though. She would probally think I was losing my mind (going senile) since the dishwasher is next to the oven in our kitchen. I did try solar cooking fish in the keys and it worked well. Man did it get hot but it was good

solar cooker ... anybody here ever see a cajun microwave? Justin Wilson built one on one of his pbs series one time.
