Waffle Monte Cristo Sandwich

Okay, to start, this recipe is:
Not Cast Iron
Not a Waffle Dog
Not fully tested
Not camp cooking (so far)
With left over sourdough waffle batter yesterday and lunchtime approaching I wanted a sandwich. Unfortunately no bread. Nor meat. Nor a waffle dog maker.
But I had batter and some sliced provolone. Heated the waffler back up.
Poured half a portion of batter in the waffler. Slapped down two slices of provolone. Poured another half a portion of batter, spread it around, and shut the lid.
The best grilled cheese sandwich ever! Melty inside, crisped bits of cheese where the waffles penetrate deepest, beautiful sourdough outside.
Next time I'm hoping to have ham on hand to do a proper waffled Monte Cristo.
