Pinwheel steaks

I posted this a while back in someone else's thread. These pinwheels are so good, I figured they deserve a thread of their own...



No words necessary, the pictures tell it all... (well almost all, that is flank steak which has been run thru the cubed machine...

Out here, most butcher shops sell what's called a skirt steak...
Similar to what you have there, but they also have bacon in them.

If you can find a good butcher he can fix you "Red River" steaks, which are non-tenderized, cross-grain cuts of lean meat that come ready to roll just like this.

Or you can get a thin boneless round steak and roll it up, then slice it in about donut-size pinwheels.

Those pinwheels look delish. Green onions, yellow bell peppers...what are those flat white pieces??? Looks like bamboo shoots...

Can you post all ingredients and what type of seasonings you put in the pinwheels?

The ingredients are easy actually...
Flank Steak (have butcher run thru the cuber)
Yellow Bell pepper (cut into thin strips)
Green Onions
Monteray Jack Cheese (cut into thin strips)
Pepper & Salt

Roll yellow pepper, green onions and cheese into steak as shown.
Tie up with twine (that you get from your butcher)
Cut into thick steaks
Grill over an open fire at your next teardrop campout!
I grill mine rare to medium rare!
Goes well with wine!
