1946 teardrop frame and axle SOLD!

Postby Patrickteardrop » Sat Apr 12, 2014 4:37 pm

I'm removing the teardrop shell off the frame this weekend, so the frame assembly (with axle and wheels/tires!) is now for sale. Sold on a bill of sale only, as this came from KS and these are not titled there.

It is a 1946 - 1949 steel frame with a Chevy truck front axle, six-lug 16" x 5" wheels with good modern tires, 1-7/8" coupler and tongue jack. No lights or other parts. It can be towed very easily, or hauled in the back of a pickup with an 8' bed!

$150.00 buys it, no cheaper. If I don't sell before the end of the Summer, I'll just make it into a utility trailer and be done. Located in Oklahoma City, OK. PM me here if interested. Build your own replica '46 on an authentic early frame!

More pics. I can say with utmost confidence that the axle will NEVER steer on its own. It's welded pretty damn well!

Frame (not incl. tongue) = 96-1/2" L x 28" W

Space from inside of tire sidewall to the other sidewall = 50"

(corrected the length)

You can buy this for $150.00 cash money today and have an authentic early teardrop rolling frame; or spend three times that on a questionable-quality HF-style pressed metal frame with dinky wheels and tires. Like I mentioned previously, I'll wait a bit for a sale, or I'll just convert it to a small utility trailer. Either way, I'm good. Don't let an opportunity this inexpensive pass you by!

Last chance before it becomes a 4' x 8' utility trailer! After 1 July, it starts a new life hauling stuff around if it does not sell before that.
