I later read in the forum that OBO is not allowed as it would be considered an auction. Go Figure. Frustrating but I did sell my boat using it anyway.

Why couldn't you just say "Make me an offer"? You know spell it out.

I'll try it Gage.
Hummm, what's another word for "offer" just in case the Craig police scan for the word "offer"? The thesauras listed theses: approach, bid, invitation, oblation, overture, proffer, propitiation, proposition, tender "Make me an oblation!", just doesn't have the same ring. :( ...Make me an "offer" will just have to do. :).

price not permanent... may offer small rebate... lol

I just reposted the same ad immediatly without the obo and people asked for bottom dollar anyway.

Craigslist is getting difficult for selling. I always have a ton of emails of people promising to come pick it up in a few days if I remove ad. Then they never show up. I picked up a free rat terrier puppy from craigslist awhile back and she said I was the 5th person to agree to come and get it and the only one to show up. Just bought bunk beds... Guy said I was 1 out of 8 to show up as promised.

Now anytime I sell something on craigslist, there is a small disclaimer that says, First person to show up with cash gets it. Will not remove ad untill item is sold. :)

The other thing i see with CL is people shopping for something. They see your ad and want what it is you're selling but don't have cash in hand. They flag your post and hope they can work out funding before it's reposted and sold.A co worker just had this problem when trying to sell a Mule.the guy who flagged his post(we assume) kept it off and sent a couple e-mails trying to lowball him(he had priced the Mule to sell). He finally posted and the ad stayed for a couple days(the assumed flagger tried lowballing again) and he sold it.Cl works well for some but is subject to the whims of the buyers.

Come to think of it PanelDland, one of the people who saw the ad on Craig's list and expressed interest in the tear met with me for a showing. They wanted to buy it on the spot, but wanted to offer "little or nothing"....basically at the cost that they thought the material to build one would cost. I would have been willing to work them on a good offer (a bird in hand), but they seemed to be trying to get something for nothing. After I wouldn't give it to them at their extremely low price, they insinuated that they would take their money and build one.

To build or not to build is totally up to the individual. Most people who purchase tears could build one themselves, but they don't have the time or want to spend the time to build (nothing wrong with either case). But the reality of the situation is that when a person buys a completed teardrop, they have not only saved themselves a great amount of time, but blood, sweat, and tears...and some more blood.

Once my home computer gets off the blink, I will put up for auction again on E-bay.

Let them see how much time, money and such goes into a build. I'm glad you stuck to your guns. I hope it sells soon!

Planovet,

I love the ever-changing faces of your cat. He has so much character; is this cat a grandkitten of Tunsis (the cat from Saturday Night Live) ?
