Half Built Teardrop "SOLD" in Central Arkansas

Postby cfiles » Sun Mar 08, 2009 9:44 pm

I am selling a half finished teardrop on a 5x8 trailer. I have journaled the build the entire way and it can be read here: http://www.chadfiles.com/category/teardrop/ with pictures. The trailer is wired for 12v and 120v service and fully insulated. As I will mention below, I have all of the parts to finish the trailer. I had intented to paint this trailer, but it can still be covered in aluminum in it's current condition. I did install most of the roof, but it can be easily removed.

Here is the deal; I want to get rid of the trailer this week, or at least have a confirmed buyer. If it has not sold by 3/15 I am going to tear it apart and sell off what I can. With that said I am going to list all of the parts (all are brand new) that I have. After the 15th if there is something you want contact me to purchase the part. Otherwise, it all goes with the buyer of the trailer. Please ask me if you have any questions, I will be glad to answer them.

If you buy the whole thing I will also throw in the following for free:
* all of the lumber I have to finish the trailer.
* The kuffel creek plans.
* The switches, lights, and other electrical components that I purchased.

The Whole Package: $1000 - must pickup

2 windows: $50.00

man o man.... most of it is already done.... Its really none of my business, but why are you getting rid of it at this stage in the game?

I'm emailing a buddy now.... This is not a deal to be passed up....

The primary reason is because I sold my truck several months ago; we were not using it so I got rid of it. At the time I thought our car could handle towing the trailer, but later found out it would be a stretch.

Another reason is the wifey. I thought I could get her out in the "woods" if we had a camper instead of a tent. No dice.

I just hope somebody wants this.

Chad are ya sure  you could always hide it in the garage awhile and think.

Remember getting rid of the truck , was that a mistake? :x

My wife was sure I had lost my mind and was kinda cool to the whole "waste of money" but ya know what , we have been to each and every gathering here in Indiana and she loves it. The people MAKE the difference it is almost like a family reunion. Take a time out and just make a day trip in the car and visit the teardrop folks in the area at their next gathering you might get the same surprise I did.

It has been hiding out in the garage for the last 4 months while I thought about it :) Coming to this decision was not easy but I think it is for the best right now. Plus, if I ever decided to build another I will have overcome the initial learning curve.

No that was a great thing; no payment, tax, gas, or insurance. We do not miss it at all. By-the-way, we are bicycle people. I am rarely in our car anyway.

You are absolutely right, they do make the difference. My son and I went to a gathering in Nevada MO last February (08), and had a blast. We all (me, wife, and two kiddos) went to one at Petite Jean (Central AR) last spring and loved it. It is always cool to go and hand out with teardrop folks.

Earlier this week I posted the trailer with all of the parts on eBay. I put the starting price at $500. So if anybody is interested in a steal of a deal, here is the link:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0293326288

@devigata If it does not sell the windows are yours. I will send when the auction ends.

10-4

Good luck on e-bay. I'd rather see the whole thing go to someone willing to finish it than you having to part it all out.

Why hasn't anyone found a dead bigfoot? When was the last time you found a dead deer, bear, coyote, fox, squirrel, etc. that died in the woods.........Hmmm.

I saw that it was sold. Congrats!

Went ahead and placed an order with Grant for the windows this morning. We're getting the 15" high ones.
