Vintage Pink wall tiles

Postby 48Rob » Tue Mar 31, 2009 2:01 pm

I'm offering just over 200 vintage NOS. (new old stock) 5" x 5" pink metal wall tiles.
As with most of the items I'm offering for sale, they were parts and material I've collected over the years for use in vintage trailer projects.

These tiles date to the 1950's, roughly.
They are new, never used, and in like new condition.
Metal and plastic wall tiles were popular in the 50's and 60's for the splash of color they offered in "wet" locations like a bathroom or kitchen.
Vintage plastic tiles are often very brittle after 50 + years, these metal tiles won't crack or break.
They were/are easy to install, just glue them to the wall.
They fit snugly together, and don't use any grout between the tiles.
The tiles cut very easily with ordinary tin snips, in case you have an electrical outlet, or something else to "go around".
Perfect for a kitchen backsplash behind the sink, or use more and cover the wall behind the stove as well!

Pretty easy way to decorate your vintage trailer with authentic material.

<IMG src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/1948rob/WALL%20TILE/PINK1.jpg?t=1238334906">

9 tiles set in a square pattern cover an area 15" x 15"
To cover an average "backsplash" area in a vintage trailer, it would take 15 of these tiles.
That covers an area 25" wide x 15" tall.
I'm selling the tiles for $2.00 each, so a typical 15 tile backsplash area would cost $30.00 plus shipping.
15 tiles, including the box and protective material, weighs about 2 pounds.

I'm shipping from 61802.
They could also be picked up in Urbana, Illinois to save shipping.
If someone wanted them all, I'd consider a discount...

Every time I walk into a house with pink tiles with black tile outlines or green tiles with black tile outlines, it screams: "I was built in 1957" to me....

Then there are the yellow refrigerators/stoves from a later date... then green then back to white, then black, now stainless... wonder what is next..?
