165 Gallon Aquarium - Trade wanted

Postby Keith.B.Nimble » Wed Apr 22, 2009 1:57 pm

Hello

I have a 165 gallon aquarium that I would like to trade for a teardrop. I would like a 5x8 or larger but will consider the 4x8.

The tank is 24" tall x 63" long x 22" deep.

A little about the setup

Filter is a Rena Filstar XP4 canister rated for up to a 265 gallon tank.

Water movement via a Maxi Jet 1200 pump.

Heaters are 2 Marineland.

Substrate specially formulated to encourage plant growth.

Here is where things get really exciting.
Comes with a complete CO2 system including a PH controller that automatically monitors and adjusts the PH for optimal plant growth while maintaining fish health.
Automatic water top off system that adds water from a reservoir to make up for evaporation.
The lighting is Metal Halide double ended bulbs, great for growing plants or if you want to convert it to a salt water tank you can also grow corals by changing the bulb.
The tank has been drilled for a sump system (currently using the far simpler canister filter mentioned earlier).

All the fish are included including the very beautiful Koi angel fish which includes a mated pair that have laid eggs several times in this tank. As well as the green phantom pleco (very expensive). If you don't want the fish I will be more than happy to find them a different home.

There is MUCH more that comes with the setup. If you are interested I can take more pictures.

In all I have over $4000.00 invested.

This will be pickup only. I will help load but you will need to provide extra bodies. 3 adults and myself should be enough. I will also be willing to spend as much time as needed to review and explain all the items during the pickup.

By the way the pictures don't do any justice at all to the beauty of this setup. Everything is top notch.

I don't have a tear to trade you, but I just wanted to compliment you on your setup. Having just purchased a setup a fraction of that size for my kids, I have no doubt in my mind that your system could easily be $4,000.

And to think I went the aquarium route to avoid the expense of a dog....

Good luck with your trade!

For a short time I had a 29 gallon tank and it took way more work to keep that one clean and healthy. When you get over 100 gallons you get to enjoy the beauty much more. I currently have it set up at my office and EVERYONE who enters just stands there in awe. They always comment on how beautiful it is. The pictures really don't do it justice. I don't know why but the pictures show alot of smudge that is not really there. The new owners WON'T be disappointed.

I really hope I get to trade for a Teardrop trailer.

I've had several PMs wanting to know if I would be interested in selling the setup without a trade. I would much rather trade however since I haven't had any offers for that I am willing to sell the whole set up for $2850. That will at least fund most of the build for me.
