4x8 woody, needs a little work, $1500, Vermont

Our family has grown and we no longer fit into the beautiful 4x8 woody that I made 3 years ago (or was it 4?).

I have build pictures online here - http://www.flickr.com/photos/erinandlindsey/1155757508/in/set-72157601520565739/

Galley is unfinished.

There was a small leak in the roof that left a stain on one side (not the one with the wooden hills mural). That leak has been fixed and I have an extra piece of the skin all cut out and ready to be glued over the water-stained side. I don't think you'd even be able to tell there was any damage once the new skin is added to that wall.

It is very well insulated with both foam and the reflective bubble-wrap type stuff. In the summer, it feels as cool as sitting under a shade tree even if you're in a hot parking lot.

Also a really neat feature is that before adding the outer skin, I ran fiber optic cable all over the ceiling with about 500 tiny holes poked through. The cables all connect to an LED light so when you flip a switch, the stars come out inside the teardrop.

We would like to get it out of our garage before the end of the summer so I think I'm asking a very reasonable price for it. ($1500) even with the small repair and the galley can be finished to any style that you like.

:)

Built the summer of 2005 as I recall. I always admired your trailer and the unique wood murals. Seems your price is really reasonable and a good opportunity for someone to own a little teardrop history. 8)

Thanks Steve. I absolutely adore your gypsy caravan. I'd love to build one some day. You did a fantastic job with that one.

I'll take some more current photos of my trailer for people to see. It is in the back of our barn right now with a bunch of stuff stored between it and the door so I've been procrastinating getting it out. I know part of me doesn't want to get rid of it but it just doesn't make sense for us anymore (with a 2yr-old who tosses and turns quite a lot in his sleep).

I'm new here, and hoping it's okay to ask... we're going to be in Vermont early next week. We'd love to come by to see your tear. (We don't mind at all if it's in the back of a barn... sounds like how things are at our house, too.)

Any chance this could work for you?

Hi, sorry I didn't reply sooner. I thought I had this set up to email me whenever there's a reply but it wasn't working. I'll double-check the settings. We're here anytime if you happen to get this and are still in the area.

Thanks,
Lindsey
