Isn't that starting bid their retail price? What kind of an auction is that..

So, if you win the auction, you pay retail or higher.....

I would say it's there for advertisement. What better way to reach out to the world. And if they sale it, that's good. How many Little Guy's are actually sold on ebay? So why not? Another good idea for cheap advertisement. If they don't sale, no charge.

Being that there is a waiting list for orders...
Maybe a 'customer in waiting' fell upon hard times and a sucessfull auction will be a best case solution for both parties...

Thanks for mentioning it Tammy. We where wondering how long it would take before it was noticed here by someone with a eagle eye. Glad to see it didn't take long. The starting price on there is actually a little below retail price, not trying to sell it for more than retail. The idea of the advertising exposure is mainly what we are curious to see ourselves. Kind of a experiment :D

It wasn't a customer unit that was canceled. We have been able to increase our production with our new building. Those who have visited us here at the new Camp-Inn shop have seen what we have done to do this. So, since most people want the trailers in April (can you blame them?) we thought it would be neat to sneak in this one during the winter months. Most of the units being built now are being stored until our wonderful winter weather thaws. These winter built units being stored for spring allow us to do this without delaying any of our customer's wait. Never wanted to do it before because we didn't want to tell anyone they had to wait any longer than they already did.

Just couldn't pass up the chance to experiment on Ebay.

While on the subject. We also are trying some print advertising for the first time. With less fear of getting overwhelmed we are trying two magazines. Camping Life and Fly Fisherman. These were based on a survey of our customers as to what they read. The Camping Life one should hit the stands sometime here in Feb. and the Fly Fisherman one sometime in March. Another fun experiment :D

Cross your fingers guys, this could get interesting.

I saw the eBay auction late last night as well. Quite a shame I don't have the money to buy a Camp Inn. The auction should be good exposure for ya'll.

How often do ya'll plan on putting a Camp Inn up for auction?

Maybe one more time, but this will be it then because we wouldn't be sneaking in any extra units most likely as spring starts to approach (it is approaching isn't it please?). This was pretty much a one time try.

And, I suppose, for the price of a Lincoln Town car you could get 3 KIAs ...

But, that's not like comparing apples to oranges ... more like comparing a honeydew melon to, well, lemons ... ... (in more ways than one ...)

Bottom line ... ya gits whatchya pays for ... :D ...

Grant,

I really don't think Bizman has seen a Camp-inn or met the folks that build them or he wouldn't be comparing a Camp-inn to a home built trailer ( I love your comparison by the way) . They really do quality work and stand behind them. They are making one of the finest trailers out there.
I don't know of any other campers being built now that sell used for as much as they cost new . If you can even find a used one. People tend to hold on to a trailer of that quality and workmanship. I don't think I have ever seen a used Raindrop for sale . That tells you something.

Grant and Lori,

Thank you for the input. I agree with Lori, Grant's observations were well said.

And yes, Lori you are correct. I know of none of our Raindrops to have been resold used. I believe at this point there are only about 40 of them that we have built so they are still fairly rare.

Speaking of used ones, if anyone is interested I do know someone with a nice '04 550 Ultra for sale for $10K. It is in southern CA. Let me know if interested and I can hook you up with him.
