Thanks -- it sounded like a good skin to me. I'm glad it worked out for you and thanks for reporting that it's been working fine for 3+ years. Is the hatch and tailgate still woody? It looks like it from your more recent pictures. I don't know why, but that three-tone look really works with your tear. If someone was just telling me about it with no pictures, I wouldn't think it would, but it really does. I like that you left the roof white -- I live in Florida, so that's a big plus.
As for good luck with my build -- I'm still looking for something pre-built, and yours with the extra room (length) is still in the running for consideration! Seeing what everyone has done here has definitely caused me to come up with some ideas on my own, but I don't think I'm quite ready for such an extensive project. I'm handy and crafty, but not quite that much....yet. I'm more ready for modding something existing. Your tear is screaming for a mini-kiddy bunk while my youngest is still short enough. By the time he's too tall for a bunk like that, neither he nor his 8-year-old older brother would likely be interested in camping with boring ol' me anyway! I have two 17-year-olds, too, so I've already gone through that stage with one set of kids...I won't take it so hard this time around...haha.
For some reason, all the available tears with potential seem to be about as far away from me as possible, but I'm beginning to look at that as an opportunity for test camping/towing on the way back home. One of these times I just need to jump on one of them, because the more I mull it over, the more I keep missing out!
I've got some numbers to crunch...and a spouse to convince....
