I'm curious, are the pictures not showing up on your screen? I'm wondering why the repost of the lower cabinet pic? There should be 14 pics in this post; at least they're there when I look at it

The "gumdrop" design is just a case of form following function; more space, but the hatch is a lot harder to make. I had to make some ( a lot, actually) special tools to build the hatch and bend the front curves.
There's a twin 12vdc light in the hatch (high and low) and a battery operated 3 stage LED light also. Inside, there's a white 12vdc LED light and another with red LEDs. Also another battery LED backup light.
The lower galley cabinet has a holder for twin gas bottles and a fire extinguisher, otherwise it's a "big" space for larger objects.

Don't know about brakes on a trailer this small, you could try here:

They're right around the corner from me; good people.
Thanks again for your comments.

Because he asked, I knew I had seen it, but I assumed it wasn't up there. :duh:

She asked. I is a she. :)

My bad! If it was a snake it would have bit me.

I have to do a little research in the forums, I think. I'm kind of intimidated by the battery and the electric cooler. Wondering how much maintenance it requires. I've never had an RV and always just used a cooler with ice for my car camping. I'm really in love with you galley design, though...all those drawers! :applause:

Ack, SHE ... I can't win.

The cabinetry is awesome. I love light stain with steel fixtures ... and the joints, whatever they are called.

There are a couple of threads around here discussing "must haves and have nots".

I was just curious about the pics, thought maybe I was doing something wrong.

The battery is a deep cycle RV type battery, it requires no maintenance other than keeping it charged, just like the battery in your vehicle.

I have included the 110VDC power brick with the cooler, (separate cost about $40) so you can just plug it into an outlet while camping. There's a covered, opening port in the right side galley wall just for that purpose. And another in the cabin wall.

You can use it as a simple ice cooler, just like any other. I did it that way just last week. Also the cooler slides right out so it doesn't have to stay in the trailer. I have another one that I take with me to Costco, just to keep stuff cold.
Also, the cooler in the pictures is my own well-used cooler, the trailer comes with a new-in-the-box Coleman cooler.

There are many different ways to deal with battery drain while using the cooler.
The simplest way is just to put it in the trunk or back seat of your car and plug it into your 12VDC outlet while on the road.
Another way is to just let it run off the trailer battery while you're driving, then plug in a battery charger when you get there. A battery charger fits nicely in the second battery box and the main battery box has external studs with wing nuts for easy charging. The main battery box also has a built-in battery charge gauge. You can plug a battery charger into an outlet, hook it up to the external lugs on the battery box, then just run everything in the trailer off your 12VDC battery; charging the battery at the same time.
Another way that is quite common with "big" RVer's is to have a separate 12VDC wire to the trailer along with the usual trailer wiring to keep the battery(s) charged while on the road. There's at least 3 different ways to do that depending on how "automatic" you want it to be. You want some way to keep from draining your main vehicle battery when your car/ truck is not running. You can do this with a simple wire that you manually disconnect, or with a relay so you can just flip a switch, or with an automatic "battery isolator". Any of these solutions are specific to your tow vehicle, not the trailer. Any auto electric shop or hitch installer can do it pretty easily.
Personally, I don't like to rough it as much as I used to, so I seldom camp in a place without an electric hookup. I know it's a travesty, but I usually take small microwave along too. Just too easy...

Those are either "finger" joints or "box" joints in the drawers; both names work. They are technically stronger than dovetails (in solid wood).
I said earlier I'm not going to build another trailer quite like this one, and the box joints are one of those things I won't repeat, along with many other neat things in this trailer I haven't even mentioned. Just too much time and expense. Future trailers will be much simpler
Thanks again,
John S.

Hey John S. ... are you going to be driving the Tear through Eastern Oregon or Western Idaho any time soon?

Not planning on it. It'll be parked for a while...
Thanks,
