RECOMMENDATIONS:
• Insulated R-12 Enclosures
• Maximum Size - 6’ x 6’ x 6’
• Minimum Size - 22” x 22” x 25”
6x6x6 is 216 cu. ft
5x8x4 is 160 cu. ft
Based on this, I can see where folks w/o Insulation have found it to be insufficient. I think most foam has an R value of about 5-7 per inch. It would also depend on where you park - in direct sun or not.
Long extensions as show on the photo Gage posted would also look like an opportunity to lose capacity.
It would appear that installation/application is key to get the cooling desired.
*an additonal thought, I suspect this calculation was made with 1 normal size dog in mind and that teardroppers use it with 2 adults which may also effect cooling capacity in removing the humidity generated.

Mark, after you take out for curves/galley/cabinets, I bet you would be hard pressed to have more volume than 100cuft in all but the larger tears...besides, if it kept Steve cool onna Texas beach, I have no doubt it will work up in the woods I camp in.....
