ez up on ebay

Does anyone have any knowledge of this item? Seems like a good deal if shipping isn't too high.

Looking at the description, I don't think it's an EZ up...they have the "EZ" in the title maybe to lure people in?

And looking at the shipping they only ship UPS which means $$ since they overcharge (IMO) They're charging $99.99 (US) just to ship within the US, so to Canada would be way more...and then there's customs/brokerage fees they tack on to the total..

If you have an XS CARGO near you look in the spring, I got a 12x12 dining tent for under $70.00 CAD..

canadiantire.ca has a dining tent 12x12 for $79.99

I just looked the bid is at $9.99
The shipping is $99.99.
If the bid didn't go to high it might not be bad. That's why they said no local pickup, there making there money on the shipping

I don't know. But with a $99.99 shipping cost in the US, seems like you could do better locally maybe. And I don't see it having a $450 dollar retail vallue. I really don't know. I haven't bought one. I'm just going by what I have seen at my local Academy store.

For $109.98 I don't think you could find one with the sidewalls for that price. Yaa, it's probably made in China, but what isn't anymore?
We paid $100.00 for the same thing without the sidewalls.

Even with the genuine EZ-Up brand, there are many different grades. Ranging from the heavy duty commercial type, down to the hope it lasts 2 seasons type.

Not only do they have different weights of fabric, they have different types of frames.

EZ up

Postby TearDropXtreme » Tue Mar 06, 2007 6:49 pm

More and more sellers on Ebay are doing the "low item cost-high shipping cost" trick these days. It benefits them in a number of ways. First they only have to pay commission to ebay on the final item cost, not the overall charge including shipping. Second, in many cases if there is a damage complaint or a lost shipment, the seller is only liable for the item amount, not the shipping amount. Third, if the seller has a contract with a company like UPS, the negotiated rate will drop the shipping cost to them significantly. So what would cost $99 to you or me to ship, might cost the seller only $20 or $30.
Bottom line is that when you see an ebay auction like this, just flip the numbers for a closer to real life cost. So the EZ up is $99 and shipping is $10. As mentioned previously a good EZ-up will cost you $100 and thats without sides, sothis seems like a decent, but not great, deal.

They finally responded to me today for a shipping cost, they no longer ship to Canada....so that completely ends that idea.
