These are the same guys that just had the Retro Traveller 1200 for sale for $21500.00. They offer some outstanding craftsmanship but they have lofty ambitions as to just what their products are worth. For 21K, I would rather go out and buy a vintage airstream. Don't get me wrong, their products look awesome but they are pricing them way out of the reach of the common man in my opinion.

$8900. "This is a savings of nearly $2000 off of our retail price!"
Somehow, I don't think they are going for high volume sales?

the 840 is our smallest, most affordable Teardrop

For $9 grand you certainly don't get much from these people now do you!!!
It is pretty and it looks like nice work but looks and a camera can be deceiving.

I'm thinkin' most of their trailers aren't gonna be real fast movers.
If those boys were the ones to compare to I'm sure quite a few of us here could get well over $10k for ours. 8)  :? :?

Ouch! buy it now of $8900! Yes this is the same guys who built the $25,000 teardrop. Granted, it's a really nice looking profile but $9000 for a 4X8 with no insulation and no air conditioner?

I kinda wonder if they lurk here.

Why are they dissin' the Harbor Freight trailer?

Postby Alfred » Mon Aug 20, 2007 3:29 pm

Why are they dissin' the Harbor Freight trailer? The availability of the HF trailer option is part of what made me think I could build a teardrop someday. May not be the option for everybody, but I would think there's no crime in putting a TD cab on a HF trailer, either.

Yep... Not a thing wrong with a HF trailer for small TDs...
I was always tought to "talk up the features of your product" and compare them if you must... But never run down the competition! Just makes you look bad and will often cost you more sales than it gets you.

I noticed this pic from the listing.................how long before someone runs into one of the latches. They stick out quite a bit and look real sharp!

I can't tell if they have spring, or torsion, axles. There's no clearance above the axle to the frame.

Personally I think it a pretty nice looking rig. Lets face it there are plenty of people without the tools and inclination to build and I believe the price is about right when I consider the time and effort to put together a decent tear drop. Mine took about 80 Saturdays to put together. If I would have sold those Saturdays at time and half pay I could have bought one of these, a tow vehicle and gas for a lot of trips.
