(not mine, just passing along info I saw, has a pic)

Vintage Teardrop Tear Drop Travel Trailer 1948 - $3000

This very nice, original condition Modernaire teardrop trailer is located about 2 miles from the lake (Lake Isabella), which is about 40 miles east of Bakersfield, on the 178. Email me if you would like to see a picture of it. It has the very rare, curved, swoopy aluminum fenders. WOULD LOOK GREAT BEING TOWED BY A VINTAGE VEHICLE! Very Rare and hard to find teardrop trailer, from the late 1940's. Has not been restored, it is in un-restored condition, and has been sitting for many years, but Very Restorable! Call (or email me)..if you want to come up and see it! 661 - 304- 4838. Thanks

That's about an hour and a half drive for me but $3000 is a lot for an unrestored teardrop. It does look to be in pretty good shape.

Nope.. I received an email stating that the Mrs. wanted to sell but the hubby didnt. Who knows..

Is there any kind of an Id plate or such to verify its originality on these?

Ahhhhh - I sense a divorce in the making - "Either that old hunk of junk of a trailer goes . . . . or I do!" ;)

No plate but there should be a serial number on the tongue. The outside looks to be original. Need to see the inside. I'm sure you'll let me know when you get the pics. Is he emailing them to you?

Those fenders look to be original and are probably worth more than the teardrop. They should be alum. Oh, and you can see the other old trailer behind the teardrop.

Side note: Do you get free shipping or are you going to want me to hold it for you until next years IRG.

Gage our plans are to be there next summer at the Irg.. Good Lord Willing. Sure Gage I,ll let you play with it till then..

Gage no free shipping in this world.
Its the hauling from California to Houston that I wonder about..as well.

But I guess I wont worry about that till I know if they will sell or I will buy.  Them fenders look original .. Im not sure about the door windows though..and them lights..but I cant say...
I am real tempted to go for it though if its available..

Heikki,
I just love it. I looks like from the pic's it is an original all aluminum riveted trailer. You know my profile is based on that profile and seeing an original is awesome. :envious:
