Teardrop wanted

Postby purplefinger » Mon Jan 10, 2005 11:01 pm

Hi all,

Is there any manufacturers out there that make teardrops except the big guys that advertise on the internet. I've seen the sites of Camp Inn and Little Guy but they seem a little too pricey for me. I'm planning on taking a six month to a year trip and think a teardrop would be a perfect companion. $5,000 is the upper limit for me and I don't have the time to build one. Am I out of luck?

Also, does anyone know anywhere in Michigan or surronding states where they have good deals on long term rentals of travel trailers?

Excuse my ignorance, I just learned about teardrops yesterday!

Thanks in advance,
Dave

Hi purplefinger.

Your other option for a new tear would be the Hunter which is sold by Family Express in Canton Ohio which is close to you.

See http://www.buylittleguy.com/shadow/

A 4X8 ft HU-1 is $4,380 MRSP
A 4X10 ft HU-3 is $4,795 MRSP (this is the one we own).

Actually the Little Guys are cheaper $3,095-$4,095 MSRP. From what I've seen in person, they are'nt setup very well for actually camping in them and seem really small inside. Some extra customizing and such would fix that though! http://www.buylittleguy.com/products.ph ... 20Trailers

Family Express sells both the Hunter and Little Guy trailers.

Also check out Aerotear Trailers in Belleville Michigan, see
http://www.aerotear.com/

There is also the PT Snoozer manufacturered in Indianapolis, Indiana by Gasoline Alley Trailer Works, see http://www.ptsnoozer.com/

Cheers

Dave, Thanks for the info - the Hunter is one that I did not know about. It looks very interesting!

Phil, I will be getting in touch with you once I do a little more research and have a better ideal what I want.

Thanks again, Dave

Hey Purplefinger,

Why won't you consider a custom built one? If you are going to be on the road that long you'll need special features that a standard teardrop doesn't have.

If you have any questions about the Hunter let me know. I have a ton of shots and closeups on my site.

If you go custom built, you have lots of options with builders here!
