Harbor Freight 6464 Trailer for Sale (well, Free...)

Postby sal_campagna » Tue Apr 22, 2008 10:38 pm

About three years ago, I picked up a Harbor Freight Trailer driving back from a vacation, with the happy intention of building a teardrop, sadly my landlord wont allow me to do any building on the property so it's just been sitting in storage (inside storage area always dry).

The description on the box is 6464B Heavy Duty Trailer, I'm not sure of what the current model is on their site, but it's the 4x8 1800 lb trailer. All the pieces are still in the boxes.

The good news is that I'm just giving it away, the storage area is in Belmont, CA (San Francisco Peninsula) you just have to come get it...

The bad news is that I'm not sure where the receipt or paperwork is... I know I have it in a box someplace and will keep looking, but I cant promise I'll find it before you pick it up and I'm really clueless what pain this causes with registering the trailer.

So if you want it, you can figure out the above and can come get it from my storage area, it's yours!

email if you have any questions...

I'm not surprised at the shipping costs, there are two HEAVY boxes, plus I'm hoping someone here will be local and just pick it up...

I would love to see it grow up to be a teardrop, but will try to sell on Craigslist in a couple of weeks if there are no builders interested in it (not that anyone HAS to build it into a teardrop to get it)

Thanks for the link, I was too tired to actually search and find it last night!.

if you sell it on craigslist i would reccomend assembling it first,, a ready to roll trailer will fetch alot more.

a friend wouldnt mind you using their garage for an afternoon to build it then maybe using a space on property to store it for the day or two it would take to sell. build it up and slap a board on there with self tapping screws and a contractor will scoop it up so fast your head will spin plus with it assembled you might be able to ask the full price invested since you have done the hard part.

:( In the state of Missouri this would be an extreme problem. Especially in Joplin. You might be able to call Harbor Freight and see if they can reissue or give you a point of origin certificate.

You meet the nicest people teardropp'n

Postby Jerry Bleeg » Wed Apr 23, 2008 8:54 pm

I was the lucky receipient of the Harbor Freight 4 x 8 trailer. I normally never get such a deal, but I guess everybody gets lucky once in a while.

I wanted to express my thanks to Sal for his generosity. Very nice guy.

I will do my best to see it gets a good home and have plans to graft a teardrop to it soon. I hope someday to be able to return the favor. If not to Sal, then maybe to someone else. As is often said, "what goes around, comes around".

Thank You again Sal for your "goes around".

Sorry I couldn't post earlier, thanks for all the replies and interest, I did manage to find all the paperwork too, so Jerry wont have too much pain with CA DMV.

Jerry all the best for the design and build!

Why hasn't anyone found a dead bigfoot? When was the last time you found a dead deer, bear, coyote, fox, squirrel, etc. that died in the woods.........Hmmm.
