Harbor Freight 1740# Trailer For Sale

Postby justme256 » Fri Jun 06, 2008 7:53 pm

Well the Grumman II project I started has unfortunately come to an end. :(

GE has made the decision to shut down the Tampa facility. I am relocating to the home headquarters of GE Healthcare in Milwaukee and need to sell the trailer. Lucky to still have a job!

If anyone in the Tampa FL area is interested then please contact me and we can discuss. I am in the process of getting the house ready for sale and need the space in my garage. The current state of the trailer can be viewed in my album. Its been modified for a 9' length and the 5' x 9' frame is complete. The trailer was never registered and has never been on the road.

Hopefully when I get settled in the Milwaukee area I can start again on this project.

Milwaukee? Where are you going to be at? That is where I live. Sorry to hear you have to be stuck here, but yeah, it is great to have a job.
When are you moving, and what area will you be in?
You know, we have a couple of tears in the area, its too bad you have to sell.

Good Luck with the move

Life happens while you make the best of plans. I hope that move works out well.

I like what you have done so far and have gleamed some great ideas. My plan is to build the gruman profile and I already have the same HF frame. Your use of pocket screw joinery for the floor subframe looks very sturdy and light weight. I would be interested in hearing any other plans you had before life got in your way.

Did you ever confer with anyone regarding the trailer balance work sheet?(Andrew) I was really struggling with it and seeing yours completed helped me better understand things.
best of luck

Sorry you have to move guys...Glad you still have a job and positive attitude!!! Ya know...with a move coming...I might be inclined to slap a box on your frame and use it to haul some personal stuff. Moving to Milwaukee...iffn it were me...I could even see an ice fishing hut in my future with such a trailer!!!!

Good luck and best wishes...Juneaudave

That might be an option to consider. A stakebed trailer to haul items you might need when you get to your new location. Then when you are settled in continue your build.
