Home-built modified Benroy 4x8 Teardrop Camper
This camper is "modified" because the standard galley bulkhead does not extend all the way to the deck. This makes the full 8 feet leg room available inside. This is great for taller people (I am 6'3").
Features -
Welded tublar steel frame with closed-off ends - no water can get in.
Triple support frame neck.
Three layer insulated deck, tar over 1/2 inch exterior plywood bottom.
Tie down hooks around frame edge.
0.040 aluminum skin fixed with trim.
Two hidden hinge doors with locks.
Hurricane hinge galley hatch with single locking latch handle.
Storage battery mounted at rear with attached charger.
Shore power exterior socket with internal outlet.
Porch lights, galley light, interior overhead light, (2) interior reading lights.
3/4 inch birch plywood sides, finished clear.
Insulated roof.
White oak hurricane hatch cross-pieces for ultimate strenght.
1/8 inch angle steel re-enforces to white oak cross-pieces in roof.
8 screw studs welded to angle steel for mount points on roof.
Non-electrical roof vent, but wire available for upgrade.
14 wheels with fenders
12v interior outlet, doubles as solar charging connector.
