Vintage Trailer Roof Rack Brackets "SOLD"

Postby 48Rob » Sun Mar 22, 2009 8:25 am

I'm offering a very nice NOS (new old stock) set of cast aluminum roof rack brackets.
They are new, never used/installed.

Price is $120.00 including shipping to the lower 48 states.

I collected these over the years intending to use them for a trailer project that never happened...

If you've been thinking about building a roof rack or canoe carrier, etc, for your trailer, these brackets will make the job very simple, and make it look good!

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/1948rob/VINTAGE%20BRACKETS/VINTAGEBRACKETS.jpg?t=1237726802">

They normally were/are installed as a 4 piece set, two per side.
My plan called for a larger roof rack, and so I am offering 3 sets (6 brackets).

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/1948rob/VINTAGE%20BRACKETS/IMGP0547.jpg?t=1237727074">

The brackets are roughly 3-1/8" wide x 5-1/2" tall.

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/1948rob/VINTAGE%20BRACKETS/IMGP0554.jpg?t=1237727439">

Here is a regular water bottle to give an idea of size.

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/1948rob/VINTAGE%20BRACKETS/IMGP0551.jpg?t=1237727525">

The mounting hole centers are roughly 2-3/8".

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/1948rob/VINTAGE%20BRACKETS/IMGP0556.jpg?t=1237727582">

The brackets accept a 1" pole, which could be aluminum, wood, steel, or whatever fits.
The pole can be fixed, or installed to turn, handy if you wanted to slide a canoe on the rack.

If you like the look of the brackets, but don't want to use round poles, the top section of the bracket is removable, allowing you to bolt the roof rack of your choice or design to the flat top of the brackets.
Since these brackets are aluminum, they can be polished to a very bright finish, if desired, to match a polished trailer.

As stated above, shipping to the lower 48 states is included in the price.

Rob,
Will the top mounting be inboard enough to clear a 3/4 inch wall?
I mean will the inside screws clear the wall?
Thanks,
Presley

The distance from the center of the screw hole that is on top to the side wall....yeah that's what I was thinking also.

Presley and Philip,

I took a couple pictures to help explain...
The pictures show one of the brackets attached to a 3/4" board.

With the bracket mounted against a flat surface, the screw holes in the top part, that would screw into the roof, are just over 3/4".
The bracket itself allows more room though, to account for the trim that most corners would have.
