ummm did he just trash a whole bunch of teardrop builders/owners to say his is better?

"It isn't the poor quality of the pre-manufactured frame found at hardware stores nor a wood dog house on wheels as you have seen for sale across the country."

He really should watch what he brags about. All this storage is way less than I have in mine, and I've got a queen sized mattress, the trailer is fairly heavy, it's ugly (my opinion) and it's built the same as a large number of trailers here are so I don't see the difference in quality being a factor.
You really need to watch what you say when selling something, someone just might call you out on it.
I'd say it was a good price if he didn't come off as such an ass.

Gidget is rather fond of her dog house on wheels.

And it's prettier (the word that comes to mind looking at his trailer's profile is "squat," not teardrop).

If one is uninterested in aesthetics then his appears to be a good deal. Function over form. Hopefully it will make some new owner happy.

Wish he could have been at Beavers Bend couple of weeks ago. What he could have seen there would have made him hang his head in shame. And you can tell he has never looked at our Hall of Fame pictures. As they say in Texas " He is all hat and boots with no cattle." Ed 8) 8)

I know mine is no beauty queen, but that thing is ugly. I have more storage in my galley and full counter space. He has no counter space at all. I agree with Rich's assessment of this person.

From an early age I've had a philosophy... the worst thing to happen in my life is no different to the worst thing thats happened in someone elses... its kept me sane in some pretty weird scenarios.

Anyway, reason I mention it is I think this is where this guy is coming from... he's obviously seen some TDs that he views an inferior to what he's produced, but its only in his experience. Had he seen the TDs that are routinely posted here and looked at the detail, attention and care taken to make something special, maybe his view would be a whole lot different.

I'm viewing my build the same as I view my life, the best I can do is going to be the best I can do... I know right now I don't have the skills or the eye that some have here so it may not look like the greatest creation since the wheel was invented, but it'll be something I've planned, worked hard on and built... no matter what anyone says, it'll be the best it can be from me.

I know this is all devil's advocate, but maybe the guy advertising his trailer views it in a similar way... he's done the best he can to produce something, looked around at what his mates have done and thought 'Blimey, I've built a goodun!'

Cheers, Dewi

I don't live too far from this camper - been intrigued for the last 10 or so months he has had it posted on craigslist. I am kind of surprised someone hasn't picked it up.

Although I still like my teardrop better(even if it has a bolt together frame :) ), I don't mind the size of this design.

If anyone is serious in me looking at it closer(not just for sport), I will be happy to check it out.

I'm glad he posted that...now I can see where I've gone completely wrong on my builds. It's considered poor form to trash any competition in sales, let the product stand on it's own. Kind of surprised he didn't mention any of his background in terms of wood/metal working etc, to back it up. I'm sure it's not a bad deal...not my idea of an ideal one however. Just my opinion. Doug

I've seen pictures of that trailer before... Thought the guy was just going for a fifties type of look and if he was, I'd say he did a good job.
The workmanship looks fine.
Too bad he didn't list it on it's merits alone. Some people...

I don't like the shape of it.

But it looks to have a lot of room (if you rearrange some things)

If he would have just put a little more curve to it, I think more people would like it...

Ive seen a lot of trailers sell for over $3500 that don't have as many options. I think you could probably talk him down to $3000

I found it funny that he gets "GREAT GAS MILAGE" with his V8 pickup.

It was designed to be comfortable to use for most any size person or couple who like to be cozy.

You can make the inside a lot bigger feeling if the mattress is removed.

Just to be clear, I am not the a$$ (or maybe I am for posting the link), only the person to post it on TTTT. I was using one of the new craiglist/kijiji tools and came across this along with a few others.

I am almost an a$$, or some days my wife will say I am definitely an a$$, but on this topic I do not believe I am the a$$. In years gone by I have been told I had a nice a$$, but those days are long gone. Now I have a big a$$, which is not the same as being a big a$$. I consider it a huge success when I can install a single roll blind on a window and get it right the first time!

Faithfully non-a$$ like!
