This trailer is in N.W. CT and it's just under 5 years-old. Over the weekend we went to pick up a small load of topsoil and the tongue collapsed (tore away from the mount on the passenger side, both legs of the vee tongue are bent/twisted) while loading.
At first I figured I'd just make up a new tongue, but when I turned the trailer over to check for additional damage I found that two of the cross members are getting a little thin. And the powder coating has pealed off just about everywhere.
Ok, that's it for all the bad stuff.
The suspension and sub-frame are solid, as is the axle (I went around tapping things with a body hammer while I had the trailer on it's side). The bearings run free and quietly as well. Frame rails and the front and back cross members are also solid. The coupler is in good shape too.
The trailer comes with three wheels/tires: the tires on the two road wheels look to have at least 50% of their tread and the spare has never even turned. Even the deck (1/2" ply) is still in good shape as when I put the trailer together I used up a gallon of Herculiner putting multiple coats on all sides of the wood.
Sue followed me with her car when I dragged the trailer home (only 2 miles, I jury-rigged a repair and went really slowly) and, oddly enough, she tells me that the lights were still working. Go figure! Anyhow, you won't be towing this away. Take that as written.
$75 gets someone most of an H/F 1175, either for repair or for lots of good parts.
