Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

I'm looking to upgrade to a tiny travel trailer. We have a four month old at home now and my wife was never crazy about me buying this in the first place! I was toying with the idea of keeping the Little Guy and simply adding to our current collection, but I don't think we'll use it much in the near future.

It was manufactured and purchased in February 2010...so its not even 12 months old yet. Since purchasing, it was probably camped in 14 nights.

As you can see in the photos, there is NO galley and no interior cabinets. Its basically a mattress on wheels with the convenience of electricity...which is all I wanted when I purchased it.

Trailer has the storage platform up front, battery, fantastic fan, power package, LED tail lights, and rear hitch for bike rack, etc.

When not in use I keep the trailer stored indoors. Its never seen snow or salt...only rained on a couple of times.

in the fourth picture, the white fan hanging on the left side is a small heater. it does a good job keeping the interior warm when its cold outside.

also, the spare tire & mount are included.

Nice looking rig, would like to have it, and your not to far from me, but broke right now.

That's the first white Element I've seen. Mine is dark blue.

I bought my Little Guy with no galley, because I didn't like the factory galley, and built my own. It would not be hard to build a nice galley into that TD.

The price seems reasonable for a 5-wide platform with those options. You forgot to mention the allow wheels option.

pappaw - our element isnt white...its called "omni blue pearl". Its a light/pale blue, but it always appears white in our photos.

caseydog - I thought the same thing about the galley...if I ever felt the need to have a galley, I figured I could always make my own.

There are a few items I didnt list on the trailer because I figured the pics would suffice, but it does have alloy wheels, a dry cell battery with case, 3 interior lights, 2 outlets and 1 "cigarette lighter" outlet, two entry doors with screens and locks, home made curtains, cabellas storage pouch, and a queen size mattress.

Also...I'd be willing to assist with delivery to nearby states if needed. We have a 4 month old so I cant drive too far away though!

Would you share your towing experience in general? I have an Element and every mechanic, or self defined expert has declared the vehicle unfit for duty to trailer more than a chipmunk on rollerskates. I can't afford a new rig and a teardrop. Besides, I love the Elements quirky functionality.

The only thing fit to tow anything according to American car dealerships is a Suburban or full-sized super-duty pickup. While, everywhere else in the world, people tow with subcompacts. In Europe, I bet a vehicle like the Element is rated to tow 3,000 pounds.

Jeez, yeah, you were told a load of bullcrap. Honestly. And about a Honda Element? Unbelievable. Your owners manual and car specs itself should dispute that. Just look up your tow rating.

No, you're fine for towing teardrops - unless you completely load the cabin, galley, and front rack with gold bars. Then maybe you might have some difficulty towing with your Element.

I believe the tong weight is the limiting factor for the Element. Honda uses soft springs to get the nice ride.

HikerChick keeps her LG light, (no collection of dutch ovens) and doesn't tow the trailer that far but it she does majority of her towing in the mountains.

The main reason I got a teardrop was so I could tow it with my wifes Element.

I was a little nervous at first, but the Element tows it fine. I was actually pleasantly surprised how well it did...unless its super windy, you hardly know its there.

I towed it to Kentucky, Wisconsin, Indiana and Missouri this past season...all without trouble!

JACK - my wife "borrowed" that blanket from her mom 4 years ago...not sure of its origins.
