It says that they are refurbished units. That means either they had a glitch in some part/program that they had to fix in a bunch or they have a lot of repaired units for some reason; plus, they are probably last years model. As long as it works, who cares? It's worth a gamble. I bit the worm.
Thanks for the heads up!

2008 model ... I'm not sure that Refurbished is too bad ... Doesn't it sometimes mean that maybe it was just a returned item to a store?

But the only closest other thing I could find like this is on Amazon for about $70

Basically, when an electronic product is shipped back to the manufacturer, for whatever reason, where it is inspected, restored to original specification (if needed), tested and/or repackaged for resale, the item can no longer sold as "new", but can only be sold as "refurbished".
and on another site, it lists that it needs /uses a Live Traffic Reciever but isn't listed on this 1saleaday one.

Oh, great...I have no idea what a 'Live Traffic Receiver' is or where to get one if I need it or what to do with it. To quote the punch line from an old joke: I may have lost the farm but they didn't bluff me.
Then again, I'm still reading the 500 page manual that came with my car. Maybe I already have it and don't know it.

Hmmmm, $39,95. I hope you don't end up making a wrong turn at Albuquerque. That never worked out well for Bugs Bunny.

Hey
Garmin units that are refurbished are usually those that are returned for a variety of reasons including everything from operator error to those that have had issues but were repaired. They are sold at a reduced cost but carry the same warranty as new units. I have used many refurbished Garmin units and had no problems with any of them.
